Good morning everyone,
I apologize for the delayed response to all the designers. I have a meeting this evening with our church council to review everyone's designs. Then tomorrow, August 15, I will finalize the design, contact the winner, and finish this project. You are all very talented and I appreciate your contributions.

I have finished updating my ratings and am continuing to review everyone's logos. I have not yet eliminated any logos, as I am continuing to see whether there are portions of one logo that can be included in another, more improved version of the logo. If you can see the ratings for the logos you have submitted, I have given a rating of "4" to those logos you have submitted that I like the best. The "3" rating is the second best...and so on. I have not yet filtered everything to the point where a "5" is the best of the best. No one has yet received a "5" rating, but several of you are getting close. I have to leave the office for another meeting, but will provide each of you with individual feedback tomorrow on your 3 and 4 rated logos.
Finally, since we have several elements that are integrated within our church, I have been struggling with how to keep the logo simple, yet illustrative of our passions. One possible way would be to have a basic logo that would have a common element. Then for each of the subgroups (i.e., sections of the website), a sub-logo could incorporate the specific design element on a separate, but related logo. The master logo could then be simplified.
For example, music could have musical notes as the key element.
Prayer could have clasped hands and/or a bowed head...or even a prayer chain.
Community connections could have a group of people or a group of hands that are linked/intertwined.
God's love could be expressed with a heart.
Jesus gift of everlasting life could be expressed by the cross.
Our national denomination "God is Still Speaking" campaign, could simply use the comma.
Our bright future could be depicted as a rising sun (which is also the Rising Son.)
The holy trinity....
The last supper...cup and bread.
Rising from the dead...butterfly.
Peace...dove.
Energetic worship, could be smiles.
We are engaged together in our church with deep connections to the needs of our community. Thus, another phrase could be...
"Listening, Learning, Laughing, Loving, and Living Together"
...or...
"Welcome to God's Home"
I hope this provides you with further things to consider in either revising your logos or in creating another logo to submit.
As always, thanks for your submissions. Even though we intend to pick a single logo, we are seriously considering payments to multiple designers, because your submissions have been so good.
There is a LOT of tough competition for the final logo. For those of you who have had a logo that includes "Less Guilt, More Joy", could you change the order so that it says "More Joy, Less Guilt." I'll be providing additional feedback later today to each contributor. And I am considering extending the deadline for this project, as I am also working with other church members to get their feedback. THANKS again for your wonderful designs.
Wow! I am starting to see even better designs from you. I have uploaded some photos that were taken of the flame within our sanctuary. Also uploaded some other photos and a descriptive document about what we are doing. One of the struggles I see is how to have a simple, elegant, and progressive looking logo, while still having the ability to link the words with the logo. The dove, flame, cross, crown, and comma are key elements of our "brand". The words are also key elements. Please feel free to experiment with combining them together...or even separating the words from the logo. Then we could combine and use the various elements as needed. For example, prayer could be linked to one element. Service projects to another element. Music (a musical note graphic) to another element. Worship to another element. People to another element (community, Christ, etc.). You see where I am going? Then the overall brand is a combination of the various aspects of our church. I'm open to other suggestions or experiments that you might have based on your faith, as we are trying to become more open and welcoming to everyone (open door policy) and one of the ways that we do this is to go outside the church and take the ministry to the community. Thanks for your help.
Keep up the good work. We are making progress and I have provided feedback to all the designers. I hope to be uploading several images from our church, so you have a better feel for our congregation. Thanks again for your contributions. I'm very impressed with the submissions to date.
Thanks to those designers who have submitted ideas so far. I believe that I have responded to everyone...but I am still learning this system. Everyone has made some good contributions, but there is still work to do. Thanks again for helping us design a new logo for our church.
MycroBurst permits you to submit unlimited designs with unlimited variations. However, if you are providing 2 or 3 different color versions of the same logo in one draft, please make sure that if the particular draft gets finalized, each color version should be separated before you will send the final files.
