These are more what we have in mind. We don't want the design to appear too "busy" however. The streamlined silhouette is nice, the coin design has potential as well. We want more of a classical feel, rather than a juvenile feel. Something sleek but with a bit of symobolism. Something that can be taken seriously.
Okay, I've discussed with our group, and here are the elements we can incorporate into the logo:
1)Goddess Fortuna - She was the goddess of fate and luck
2)Ship's wheel - signifying how she steered the fates of men (where the "Wheel of Fortune" came from)
3)Gold coins - 1907-9 Double Eagles specifically. See www.thetsarstreasure.com book cover for a sample. This can be singular or together (Fortuna can be seen holding a shell/cornucopia overflowing with gold coins)
4) Pirate related. We are treasure hunters and the judge has called us "modern day pirates." We must stick closer to this designation in our brand/logo.
After much thought, the Poseidon-related logos are a bit too masculine-themed and too colorful. Ships are referred to as ladies, Fortuna (Fortune) was a goddess. We want something a little "darker" in theme and colors (perhaps with a gold contrast). Again, think pirates, nautical, the Goddess of Luck, gold coins. Thank you for your submissions!
Give me something like this, just add his right arm holding up treasure, the Romanov crown, string of pearls, gold coins - treasure in general. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6li_BqUEtI0/TLH9rRIDIaI/AAAAAAAAA90/d6HsubaTV8k/s400/Poseidon_.jpg
We like the last one in concept, perhaps Poseidon holding in his raised right arm treasure, a jeweled crown, string of pearls, coins, etc. You get the idea. (FYI, We have contacted this artist separately.)
