The logo is for a tablature website that collects tablature files. Users are able to upload and share their tabs. A tab is a music partiture file. (See: www.guitar-pro.com/, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tablature#Guitar_tablature) The aim is to be different than the dozens of other websites out there that are based on badly designed dark color designs. Google "guitar pro tabs" and you know what I mean. There is no definite tagline yet, but I'm curious about the possibilities. Optional, go wild. |

Red (or every other fiery color that could be associated with tabasco, hotness or fire), gray, white, black. Sheet partiture is black on white, hence the black and white. Tabasco and fire are red, hence the red. |

Take a look at the generic dark unclean unmemorizable cluttered unmarketable boringness that is the competition, and do the opposite. - http://www.guitarprotabs.org/ - http://www.gprotab.net/ - http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ - http://www.mysongbook.com/ - http://www.tablatures.tk/ - http://www.protabsguitar.com/ - http://www.theguitarlesson.com/guitar-pro-tabs/ - http://www.tabondant.com/ What do they have in common? All dark themed, no real brand image that sticks. No personality and all quite formal. They all use guitar picks or some notes in the design. The guitar is ok, but the site aims to be a more general partiture site. We don't want to attract just people playing guitar so I think the logo should be based on general partiture or sheet music. I'm thinking of a partiture sheet that is burning from the bottom, or a guitar burning from the bottom up. Something like that, but that's just what's in my head. Feel free to experiment and try cool (no pun intended) stuff. A lot should be possible with fire and burning and music. |
