Friends and colleagues have overwhelmingly agreed on designs #10 / #11 by aqvart110, so I will be closing the project.

Many thanks to all, for the hard work and creative ideas you've submitted. While it's great to see so many options, it does kind of hurt at the end to have to reject all but one. Best of luck on future endevours.

My final comments to updated drafts/designs:

Sacril, #18 / #19, and original proposals: Your idea was the second runner for most people. Currently, this website [mycroburst/logodesignguru/etc] doesn't seem to support 'sharing' of the winning prize or awarding more than one winner. If you are interested, I will contact support and see if we can come to some sort of arrangement as per FAQ, as I might want to use the idea of "personifying the X" at some point in the future :)

Watukali, #20 : The font is nice & classic but the overall design, while clean, is not specific enough. A rectangle could be put around the O, to make it a camera - but again, then it just seems like it's NP inside a camera.

Adyyy, #23 : Playful & modern:). I liked it, until people asked me "What's Pilx??" and "NikPiix?". Shows again that just because I know what is says, not everybody does... the extension of K into the "Pix" confuses people who see it for the first time. Not sure if this could've been alleviated long term.

underfifty, #16 : thanks for the resubmition; ultimately, the logos with more integrated design won out over the pure-font styles.

UNEEK, #17 : This was withdrawn before I had a chance to look at it.

UPDATE: Let's try this again and see if I can correct the draft mislinking... if not, you guys can figure it out :-)

    -------
    Oh wow!
I've been mucking about some logo ideas for a while, but this just goes to show that knowing what buttons do in Corel Draw, doesn't one a designer make... great job everybody, I'm happy I tried this out! :-)

I'll offer comments on all designs - feel free to take them as constructive criticism/praise, personal opinion of a random guy on internets, or ignore it completely :)

draft #1 - I liked it at first glance; the smoothness and simplicity appeal to me. However, when I looked at it more deeply/objectively, it could be taken as NUP or NUO or even NUD... plus, N is the smallest, the U and P larger. In the end, it'd be tricky to recover, I think.

draft #2 - Less ambiguous, very modern. Still, if I didn't know it's NikPix, would I recognize the second letter as an O? Not sure, but I'll have some of my friends look at it, as again, I like the elegant simplicty of it :)

draft #3 - very nice, it took the basic classic serif font and put some touches on it. In fact, it's a great logo - but unfortunately, not for me: the flower is not necessarily specific to me, and it makes it a bit too girly. Yes, I know I had one similar like that in the samples... sorry!

draft #4 - oooh, I like. Shutter is nice, frame is nice. Orange is not my cup of tea but that's a personal matter and easily changeable. Definitely in contention!

draft #6 - I'm gonna skip, because I want to talk about

draft #5 - Love it! Making a person out of X - brilliant [ok, maybe it's "Designer 101" and everybody else here has seen it, but it's new to me:]. And the little dude seems enthusiastic, excited, ready to jump out and start taking pictures... an immediate favourite:). I would like to see one or two changes or variations: the oval face looks great from a distance, but when zoomed it, it looks a bit like an actual 3d O that's on a side... can we make it a little bit different - maybe either make it 'swirly', like in aqvart's designs, or a bit of a 3d polish/gloss/roundness like in UNEEK's design? I'm assuming that doesn't violate copyright, don't let me make anybody commit crime - I'm new to this! :)

draft #9 - pretty cool, but the guy has too much detail in him; I liked the very symbolic / plain little people, that look a bit funky: kind of like the signs from the game Portal, or the little running people in Nintendo's Brain Age.

draft #7 - good, but I like #10 better; the vertical .ca looks like an i at certain sizes, so it makes it "NikPixi"... which is cute and funny, but not the actual name :D

draft #10 - wicked! Love it! There's a stylized N, there's a camera-like suggestion, I have options for a simple logo watermark or a full name. It's perfect and a top contender, I don't even know what would need to be changed [I'd be curious to see it in different colours, but it's something I can both do & visualize easily so no worries]

draft #11 - Funky! Again, a great and simple inclusion of camera that becomes an integral part of the name / design as opposed to sitting on a side.

draft $12 , #13 , #14 - it looks neat, and I like the font. However, to at least some of my target audience [remember, these are yuppies who are internet savy], it will look like a clipart put on top of a word :|

draft #15 - haha - it reflects my personality well, it's happy and childish and excited; however, the logo has to display both those qualities, but also a certain level of seriousness and comittment. Clients chose me for their wedding day, and there's no do-overs there. They have to trust I'll be there for them, take it seriously, and not flake out, so unfortunately I cannot use it as a company logo.

Thanks all! I hope you'll take these comments in the positive feedback spirit they're meant :)

Hmm, not sure what I did wrong with the references to double-digit drafts, and there's no help in FAQs, so I have to experiment, apologies:
