would you please join me in congratulating Fawwaz on his design #157 which has been selected as the winning design by a focus group consisting of existing and [potentially] new clients, for our new brand Auto Evolution that is to be launched to the UK public on April 1st.
Thank you to all of you who have entered for your efforts and comiserations to our other finalst Piuwm who put in an equally superb design for our brand.
I thought i'd make this public announcement that I have narrowed this competition down to two designers and their themes: Piuwm & Fawwaz.
Please congratulate them on getting this far.
For all Designer's who have not made it to the final two, I'd like to say 'Thank you very much for all the effort and consideration you have put in to this competition to help this new brand with its identity. None of your efforts have been taken for granted'.
Firstly, thank you for all entering the competiton! All of your efforts have been greatly appreciated.
Tonight 3 things have happened:
1 - I have eliminated a number of designs to come to a few final designs that I would like to see as finalists in this competition.
2 - To each designer that has a design I have selected for the final, I have sent you a private message.
If as a Designer, you have not received a message prior to this public announcement regarding being a finalist, then please accept my public apology that you have not been successful in this competiton.
3 - For the selected Finalists, I have extended this competiton by a period of 3 days so final amendments can be made to your selected designs that wil enable me to announce a winner at the end of this comming weekend.
Thank you all once again for both your consideration and efforts for this competiton.
Notice to all: Just a quick note to let you all know that I'm away for work tonight in an area that only has dialup which is taking an age just to load up without pictures! I can see that more submissions have been made today. I will be back online properly on Thursday night and will be able to see all new revisions and provite private feeback at that time. I do apologise for the delay to you all. Sincerely, Al
Thanks for all the efforts so far... one thing to state for all designs is that on my van's at the moment, the text is in a chrome effect.... this looks great on websites but is very difficult to read in daylight on the side of the van... so the logo and text should bear this in mind as it needs to be able to be read on the vans as well as website and stationary. So the use of colour in the logo and text will be very useful. Thank you!
Raindesign: I've just seen a typo in what I wrote... I mean't to say 'Am more partial with designs #5-#7'... not '#5-#3' as clearly design #3 is not your design. Sorry for this.
Raindesign: Drafts #3-#7
Clearly, your designs work with both a black and white background which is positive. Am more partial with designs #5-#3 than with #4 as the logo cannot be separated from the feel of the whole... if that makes sense. I like the background lines of design #7 and the font for evolution [though the think the differentiating style of the 'e' in evolution does this for me. What I'm not sure of however is the font for 'Auto'... I think it looks a bit too MS Word type font rather than anything modern, sophiscated, classy etc. Equally, I'm not sure of the design of the wheel itself. Another thought is... the design so far is quite tall... what would it look like if your design so far were placed side by side rather than on top of each other and placed in a losinge [spelling!]? Thank you for your efforts!
Fixdesign: Draft #2 & #3
Thank you for your efforts. Unfortunately both these designs so far don't fit what I'm looking for. I do like the graduation of colour in the font and logo. But, what I think I prefer is different font from 'Auto' and 'Evolution' as it shows progression. Also, with the logos you've designed so far, if you take the text away, the logos could represent anything and don't immediately infer anything auto related. Aside from the positive being the gradiation of colour another positive is that your design clearly works on a black background as it would a white background. But, based on the lack of auto theme and font choice would eliminate the designs as they stand so far. Please keep up your efforts though as they are appreciated!
Ladies and Gents, I forgot to add in the description that another design I liked for inspiration was design number 13 for the Adaptive Automotive competiton. I liked the use of the colours in this font to make it stand out. Thank you!
