Congratulations! Insignia001, Contest Holder has selected your design #61 as Winner. Thanks to all the designers for their creativity and hard work. Thanks
Since it's coming down to the last day, I looked in to the rules on formats and such, and it seems I was supposed to specify these sooner!
I require at MINIMUM a transparent background (uncompressed png or whatever keeps full quality).
I would much prefer a vectored image if you have this available (please let me know).
If possible, to save us a rather large amount of time, if you could also include the PSD (and what font you used) that would be a huge help when editing it for various needs down the road as our website changes.
I would also request even on a non-psd that you include the fonts so the website can incorporate them to match.
Thank you all, and I look forward to the seeing any last day submissions. We have a very hard job choosing ahead of us!
InfiniGroup: love the variations in 40 and 41. Just one more modification request if you don't mind, could you also try one with the sideways mod, but the same sweeping zero going through the "o" as you did in 41?
michael: 42, 43, and 47 are very nice. I am not a fan of 44-46. The larger bar on the mod symbol is the main reason there, and it's necessary for that style to work. I wouldn't mind seeing the three I mentioned with a thinner sans serif (I realize 42 and 43 are sans serif, but a lighter font), or more modern font style.
As always, thank you all. It's coming down to the last 2 days and I'm already concerned that the decision is not going to be easy - to many great submission!
swhinck: Thank you for the additional variations, that's perfect.
infiniGroup: 37 I'm particularly fond of. Like I mentioned earlier, some sort of "motion" would add a lot to this I think, though the "depth" is already taken care of in 37 which looks really nice with the shading. Don't withdraw 37 though, the simpler form may win out when we make our decision.
Dave: I like the blue one much better than the original. The circles are also a great example of what I was looking for with "motion" in the logo as well. I also enjoy 33. It's a great example of something very clean to add to my list of finalist to decide from.
swhinck: The multitude of colors is great! It would match any style sheet changes in the future as well. I wouldn't mind seeing some other examples like this to put in the running as well.
I would like to thank all three of you again for your submissions. This has been a great experience and it's only day three. The variety of submissions, and the fast tweaks and modifications of them is quickly getting me a long list of possibilities to decide on! This is exactly what I was looking for by crowd-sourcing this design.
yes, you can contact me for changes. also, my artwork is transparent background. if you have any questions or you need any changes you can contact me, alisha. thank you!

Thank you very much for your hard work Alisha. I actually like 25 best. 26 Makes me want to go play Doom :) I also like how your design (I'm assuming) comes with a transparent background, which makes it versatile. Some of the others I've seen on this site would be hard to move from one background to another. I'm also looking at 19, 20, and 24 out of yours. I think they are great as is (great depth, color, and exciting to see), but will contact you if I have any ideas on further modification. If not, I thank you for your work, especially on a Saturday.
I'd also like to thank dave for his submission. However, it to has too close of a reference to video games (360). I really like the 3d aspect however. Could you try it with the blue/green color? rgb(45,141,179) is the in between in my gradiants, so it can get lighter and darker per the shadowing. Any other modifications to distance itself from the Xbok logo would be fine as well - I love the concept and would like to explore logos with a symbol before making a final decision.
In going back and forth with people on my side, it was also suggested that I try something with motion. Not animated, but something that looks like it could be. For instance, the logo I linked earlier (http://www.mycroburst.com/drafts/display/contest/251/draft/12048) has a feeling like even though it's a graphic, the cell signal is radiating out. There are some aspects of that in Alisha's designs as well. I don't really have any suggestions as to how to do this with a Mod Zero logo - hence why we've come here!

I think my favorites so far are 8, 12, and 13.
8: I like the font a bit better, but it's still more art deco than modern. There's also some concern over it being a recognizable font. The same goes for 9-11, and 14. See this comment further down for more.
12 (and others): I think I am a fan of the larger Z if the logo end up with your style. Not OVERLY large, but proportional to 12. Exception: 14 I actually like smaller because of the font, but it's not quite serious enough.
13: Even though it uses the larger Z like 14, that part I liked was the overlap. It's more pronounced and creates more depth to it.
After talking it over, I'd like to try a few things. Having the 0 be 3d maybe. Not block letter 3-d, but rather turned with perspective, like http://www.mycroburst.com/contests/anemoi/users/InciseLogo
I'm just looking for depth in general. Even if it was the glare effect being modified, such as http://www.mycroburst.com/contests/design-a-logo-for-a-mobile-gadget-website/users/Rocker
Another example of both a circle with perspective AND glare (not to plug another contest currently going on!) -

Also, the color in 6 and 12 is pretty much perfect I think.
I'm still open to drastically different Ideas as well. Either way really, since I'm fond of what's already been submitted too.
okay, i will try different colors and make a little more modern.

Thanks for the upload Alisha!
Great use of the symbols - that's exactly what I was going for as far as using them, but not making them stand out to the point of just looking like an equation or font.
Initially, I would like it to be a bit "lighter" or "modern", however the more I stare at 4 and 5, the more I enjoy them - I think it's actually just that I am not a huge fan of the Navy color if it's on a thicker logo is all.
Finally, as I've been designing the site, the blue tends to get a slight gradient making it blend a bit darker. This isn't required, just an update on the color - so don't be afraid to make it a bit darker. The hex I have provided is the lighter of these.

Really slick designs! I'm sorry, I don't even have any feedback for you on them, they're great as is!
