Medicine in Practice is a start up that will provide technology-based products or services to support biomedical research in both the academic and corporate setting. The company has only a placeholder website, and the final design and color palette will be set after finalizing the logo. The logo needs to work on a website as well as in print and other collateral materials. Some guidelines are: - clean, clear, and easy to read - works on web and in print - works in color and black out of white (fax) and/or white out of black - MUST fit within 200-250px wide by 50-75px high - should have dimensionality - text (of company name) can wrap to fit space - generally prefer icon or stylized letter to left of type, then wrapped text to right - possible icon or letter MUST be sufficiently distinctive to stand alone as e.g. favicon or other small logo use - possible images to consider (NOT a directive list) include stethoscope (part), DNA/genome, caduceus (probably over-used?) - can include acronym (MiP) |

Not finalized, but probably brighter colors for "pop" against generally grey and white website design. Consider blues, reds, oranges, etc. in bright hues. Company is innovative and very web-savvy web 2.0 etc. NOT brown or related. |

Some examples of logos that I like (you can Google all companies) include: Abbott, Boehringer ingelheim, WaterMeadow Medical, etc. Please do not feel limited by these - they are just examples of the sort of layout and logos from parts of my industry. |
