  I think it would be nice if the logo featured a full owl, especially if it looks like it is chiseled out of onyx. Here are some links for inspiration:

  MycroBurst permits you to submit unlimited designs with unlimited variations. However, if you are providing 2 or 3 different color versions of the same logo in one draft, please make sure that if the particular draft gets finalized, each color version should be separated before you will send the final files.

  Some thoughts:
  
  - I would really like to see designs with a full owl.
  
  - Using the OO/Eye trick is NOT necessary.

  I'd really like to see some designs that move away from focusing on the text "Onyx Owl" and include a full owl in the design. I think an owl made of Onyx with color bands (like in this photo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Black_Onyx.jpg) would be great in the logo. Especially one perched and looking to the side (kind of like http://andrewbennett.photoshelter.com/image/I0000UVtKifpP1JY).

  Athlon: Design #5 is too playful and cartoon-like. I'd like something more intimidating/striking. Maybe more sharp lines would help.

  Foxus: I like the black and white design (#4). It has a good feel. I think something less text-based would be nice, though, like something featuring a full owl maybe.
  
  Also I think the eyes might be a bit too far apart. Maybe making a "NYX" and "WL" be a little smaller than the O's/Eyes would do it.
