Based on the designs so far, I am doubting the winning design will incorporate the barber pole image.
At this point, I don't think it is possible to get the urban look with it. Using the barber pole influence is just too traditional.
However, it may be possible for the wining design to use the image of haircutting shears. **Please make sure that shears image or the abstract actually resembles genuine haircutting shears.
So far, my favorite design is draft #12. I am always critical of designs in my industry that incorporate use of shears, but in this case it looks good. I think that a lot of times the use of scissors or shears are generic and don't resemble haircutting shears. However, this designer's design is a very accurate image of haircutting shears.
On draft #12 and some others, there seems to be a "washout" of light effect on top of logo. Could someone comment on this. Is this part of the designs or an effect from uploading the image?
On draft #12, could you please make the shears silver or white, not gold. Also, please fill in the hole in the middle of shear at pivot point.
I also like draft # 3, without the barber pole abstract above.
This is a great start everyone. One of the most obvious reactions for me after seeing some initial drafts, I am really starting to doubt the use of the barber pole in the logo.
For example, my favorite so far, draft #12 is clean, feels more urban and cool. I think part of that feeling is also because of the simplicity of the black and white. I am moving away from the desire of the barber pole as part of the logo unless something is amazing. I can always add a barber pole image if desired, next to the logo if it is appropriate in the use or delivery of logo.
I realize that with the barber pole inspiration, it seems obvious to use blue and red in the logo. I am not opposed to color, but lets think more urban cool instead of suburban strip mall franchise.
Hi, project holder - it would be nice if you also give your value able feedback on the drafts you love, so that can lead us in the way you are thinking!
Dear Designers,
Please feel free to submit designs with and without a barber pole image. I would love to include it, but it is not mandatory if a design is strong enough without it. Thanks
