Our printing company requires a 1/8 inch "bleed" off of every side of the page. Thus, an 8.5 x 11 inch color flyer should be designed such that it is 8.75 x 11.25 inches. This allows the printer to print a little extra on all sides, and then the final product will be cut down to 8.5 x 11 inches such that a white border is not inadvertently included.
I've uploaded an example of the "bleed" for one of our business cards. Please make sure that the designs for the folder and brochure have the requisite 1/8 inch bleed on all sides of the flattened documents.
Also, for the folder, the final layout needs to be completely flat, such that the pocket flaps are folded outward (i.e., as if the design is going to be fed into a printer).
Again, please note that we do not want the folder and brochure to utilize a design that is similar to the stationary design. We really want something different here.
For your convenience, I uploaded all of the REQUIRED TEXT in a Word document. You will need to format the text (font, size, etc.) pursuant to your specific design.
The number of pages for the brochure is up to you. It just needs to be long enough to include all of the REQUIRED TEXT that we listed in the project outline, as well as be aesthetically pleasing (so you as the designer can use your own judgment here).
The pics have been uploaded. I tried to select pics that reflect the high tech nature of our legal services. Also, I stuck to pics that would complement the RED and GOLD of our logo. As such, one or more of these pics may work as a background image.
However, please do not feel that you need to use all (or any) of these pics. We have made them available to you for the design process, but they are not required in the final designs.
Will do... Please let me know which of the following file sizes you would prefer:
(1) Web: 366 x 467 px | 5.1 x 6.5 in | 72 dpi;
(2) Low: 524 x 668 px | 7.3 x 9.3 in | 72 dpi;
(3) Medium: 1,655 x 2,112 px | 5.5 x 7 in | 300 dpi; and
(4) High: 2,796 x 3,567 px | 9.3 x 11.9 in | 300 dpi.
I.e., Which of these would work best for purposes of an 8.5 by 11 inch brochure???
I've uploaded the design files for our logo, business card, envelope and stationary, so you should be able to see everything that we have so far. Please note, however, that we do not want the folder and brochure to utilize a design that is similar to the business card / envelope / stationary design. We really want something different here.
