  A lot of designs use the "pen" as a graphic, this is not necessary. By "academic" I mean it has to represent higher learning, insight, thoughtfulness, etc. Symbols like pens and books don't necessarily do that. Think more about what's associated with the "Ivy League" (Harvard, Yale, Brown, etc.) in the U.S., but with an edge.

  There are some great designs here. I second Msteed, more academic. By coincidence, the 4-star ratings are all moving toward what we are looking for.
