After agonizing for days over the awesome designs and putting them in front of everybody who's opinion I value, I chose #55 as the winner, congrats galen. This design had the right mix of simplicity and appeal, and I really liked the way the swoopy "T" that made up part of the "G" felt like a genie emerging from his bottle, or kind of like a thought bubble. This mapped very well into what I was trying to convey. The checkmark design was very good as well, and conveyed a similar feeling, but some felt it was a little too busy, and the connection to the initials was feint.
I could go on and on about all the tradeoffs that went through my mind over the days with ALL the designs, every one had its merits, so thank you all so much for contributing and best of luck in the future. Sincerly,
Thank you all for your submissions!! I have eliminated some designs either because they were not distictive enough or because they were too specific in content (my company is not specifically engaged in the mobile space or robotics, although these disciplines will be an element). I hope to have some messages to individual designers soon for tweaking the final draft.
All, I've invited a bunch of you using the terms "consumer electronics", "engineering" or "electronics" as filters. Many of you have great concepts, don't hesitate to contribute even if you haven't been invited as this process is a little haphazard. As mentioned above, please avoid the use of the "gear" motif, stray more toward communication (in the wireless sense), electronics and creativity. I'm not sure about the tagline, so go ahead and feel free to change that if you'd like to something that better fits your idea. Happy Designing!!
Thank you for your submission. While I like the use of color, I'd like contributors to avoid the use of a "gear" icon because this implies mechanical design rather than wireless or electronic design. Thank you!!
