I got responses/input from well over 100 people over this past week. Not a single designer went without at least a vote or two. If I went strictly by number of people who liked a design, #57 would have won by a landslide. However, I got some very good consultation along the way. While it did not get many votes, #50 is the best for portraying the image I am trying to wrap my business in. The only change we have made was to change the tag line to "Securing Your Legacy." Thank you all for your hard work. I will start the corporate image and brochure competitions shortly.

I am amazed at all of the wonderful options presented. I have started the process of selection by first seeking public comment on the designs. That will last for another couple of days. At that time final selection will be made and I will launch the contests for corporate image and brochure.

I am really amazed at the talent displayed here. Exceeded my expectations.

about the comment below - I mean the colors and cursive lettering of #55 or #57 with the icon of #50

neonlite - what would it look like if you combined #55 or #57 with #50?

I am amazed at what you all have done. There is one design, however, that I'd like to see tweaked a bit to see what it can become.

Neonlite -- #20 gets a lot of comments. One person told me, "I like #20 best - the shield makes me think of a security company." I must admit I like # 20 quite a bit too. However, I'd like to see what you might be able to do with adding the tag line "Protection & Legacy" to it. If there is any way to add a little bit of metalic shine to #20 that would also be of interest to me. By the way - I love what you have done with #49 through #52.

neonlite - I just saw #39 - thank you for showing how it could look in reverse. I'm sure there are places where the reverse colors could be used like this. Still, it is hard to beat that silver on black look you created. It is very striking. See my comment below.

Just got the following comment online - "My favorite now is #38. I like the P in this shape(don't like the new style). I like the maroon & black combination and the ALP in the shield. #19 use to be my favorite but it seems very bland & basic compared to #38."

Monart - I would like to see how it would look if on #38 1) the vertical line separating the icon and business name were dropped, the maroon inside the shield were black, and the text was done in the type of font like used on #19.

Neonlite - I'd love to see how #19 would look if you took the square icon and were able to do something in the shape of a shield like #38, #27, or #34.

For submissions like #7 & #19, how do you work in the full dark background when you are preparing letterhead or other corporate image pieces?

I want you all to know I am really impressed with the quality and variety of submissions so far and look forward to seeing what will come of this process.

Now a few comments of my own. If I were to pick one right now it would have to be #19. It looks very distinctive. I love how the combination of black through the white lettering gives the appearance of shiny silver. I think that perhaps the icon part of the logo may be a tad simple but I'm not sure if that is a bad thing.

I like #s 9&10 but I think the icon part could use a bit of work - I can't put my finger on it, but I don't like the way the P is rounded and then sharp.

I really like the outlining of the shield on #13 and I like the "shiny" appearance created. I also like the symbolism of the shield. I'm sure other such symbolism could be worked in.

The way that the ALP are put together in some of the submissions makes it too difficult to make out each letter without first knowing that you are looking for an "A" an "L" and a "P." Most designs do not have this problem, but for those that do, that is not what I am looking for. I could see using a symbolic Icon that has no letters whatsoever, but if we are looking for letters in the Icon, I would prefer that you can quickly see what each letter is supposed to be.

about 4 people have told me they liked #19 best with comments such as; simple, powerful, classic, clean.

oops - correction to earlier post - I found some more comments - about 6 or 7 people found #10 to be the best initially

With the addition of #s 11-20 the following comments were received:

"I still like the logo from #6-10 best . . . but if they could make those letters form the shape of a shield instead of just a circle, that might be better . . ."

"still like #9 the best. Decidedly do not like numbers 12-16, 18, or 20 at all! #19 would be my second choice."

The person who liked blue in the previous comment states, "I think I like #12 & #18"

Prior to the addition of #s 11-25, I received the following comments on #s 6-10:

#6 - one person liked it - had a comment of "too much color contrast"

#7 - about 6 people said they liked this one best. I would consider most of these people to be touchy feelly artistic types. (This is an observation and maybe a compliment - please no one be offended.) This type is not my most common client. Comments were - "has nice continuity with the silver & two blues yet the extra blue gives it variety. The colors also have a soothing effect....good ol' blue!"

#8 Two people liked these color combination best - no real useful comments

#9 Two people like this one best - no thought it looked "classy." (That type of comment is the type I am seeking when people see my final logo.) I tend to agree that in the initial set this was one of the best. However, their is not enough contrast.

#10 3 people (4 if you include me) liked this one best - one comment was the maroon was too much and needs to be a little more subdued. I'm not sure I agree with that comment, but I can see where one might think that.

The project has been re-opened and guaranteed. :) I have been soliciting comments on the project from a group of my piers. I will begin sharing the comments I have received on the projects to help with potential ideas and I will add my own thoughts as well.

There are some great designs here and I have been getting a lot of good feedback on ways to tweak once design or another. However, now that I am finally getting more submission ideas there is little time to work with them. The contest ends tomorrow. Therefore, it is my intention NOT TO PICK a winner for this competition and I will start a new one that is GUARANTEED. I would like to see all of these designs resubmitted at that point and I will give you all of the feedback I have been getting. Also I will need a corporate image design, folder design and brochure design.

I know my brief is not specific about the tag line. However, I would like to have the tagline, "Protection & Legacy" worked into any submissions please.
