Where Caring, Community & Business Meet

  No

I am creating a company that provides pastoral care to people at work and in community organizations. It is modeled after hospital chaplaincy.

Our chaplains listen. We "meet" the person wherever he or she is - respecting their spirituality whatever that looks like. It is soul and heart work - and isn't about convincing anyone of anything. We provide a loving presence, particularly when people are going through a hard time, a crisis, or have lost someone through death.

Chaplains will make brief, regular, confidential work site visits to get to know employees and offer moments of connection, acknowledgment and encouragement. If an employee has something he/she wants to discuss with the chaplain, it may be mentioned then. Depending on the nature and urgency of the employee need, the chaplain will coordinate a place and time for a follow-up meeting. This may be on a break, at lunch, by e-mail, or by phone.
Community and Home Visits

At the employee’s invitation, chaplains will make hospital, family home, nursing home, funeral home, and/or other neutral site visits when appropriate.

Service Focus
Chaplains care for the employee, as well as immediate family members. Such care includes confidential discussions concerning, but not restricted to: marriage, divorce and remarriage, serious illness, death, grief recovery, child-rearing, and care of aging parents. Other personal issues that may be discussed could include the effects of AIDS and HIV-related illnesses; drug and alcohol dependency; fears related to national, state, and local terrorist activity; financial and budgeting matters; psychiatric problems; serious illness; spousal and child abuse; and stress management.

please see my site, chaplaincyservices.org. Plum, mauve, taupe, gray, black, cream. Happy to see complementary colors as well. Prefer rich, warm color. Want executives to know that we are a serious, substantial business and reflect that tending to the soul and the heart is vital to us.

One idea is to reflect how community/business is a tree of life. Here's a sketch to consider in your brainstorming. Thanks for helping. Nalini
