Awesome work, Alisha. I like the new designs a lot. Would like to see:
- original spiky star in place of the 'a' as well
And
- both designs comparing black/silver with and without sparkles inside the lettering. I think I prefer the blue lettering and arc with the sparkles left in.
Hi, Alisha, I'd stick with the stars you used in #35 as they stood out much more. I'd make it slightly smaller, only slightly, and a bit higher up, as if the end of the 'e' was sparkling like some kind of cheesy toothpaste commercial.
Also, have decided to go with the following colour scheme:
- black and blue on a white background
- silver and blue on a black background
Hi, Alisha, yes that definitely looks awesome! To refine it, I would suggest making the second star much smaller and maybe putting at the very end of the tail as if the star was further away, sort of disappearing into the distance. Also, I prefer the colour schemes you did in black/blue on a white background and silver/blue on a black background, so I think these two designs with the new arc would look great.
Alisha:
I really do appreciate your effort but that wasn't quite the look I was going for! In the brief, I've done the source image with one star in place of the 'a' and then one star at the end of the word (but smaller) with an arc linking both of them behind the word. I also think those stars were maybe a bit fussy for the decoration, have you got anything a bit simpler? Thanks!
InciseLogo:
- I love the words together and different colours as you've done in #26 and #30, you really took on board my ideas. Having seen how awesome they look I am now less sure about having the words separate. I think I also prefer the blue/black/silver colour scheme, so I'll stick with that.
- I like the gradient effect on the silver wording of #28. Can you apply the same gradient (horizontal I think) to all the lettering?
- I would really like to see how the logo looks on white and on black as I haven't decided which background I'll go for on my site yet and I like having both options.
- In summary, could you do the lettering of #30 and #26 in gradients of silver (sparkle) and blue (byte) on black, AND gradients of black (sparkle) and blue (byte) on white whilst keeping the stars as you've done them there in whatever colour you think looks best? I hope that made sense!
Also, could I see what it looks like if you added another star to the end of the word and dragged the tail in an arc upwards and across to the end of the other tail (but behind the word so the lettering was not obscured).
see 'sourcefile.png' in the brief to get a sense of what I mean, although ideally the second star would be smaller, the tail would not have image corruption, and the join between the two tails would be seamless, as if it was just one big arc linking the two stars together.
Hey Alisha, thanks for those. I've changed my mind on the 'cloud of dust'. I think I prefer the two designs #10 and #16 overall.
I think actually some smaller stars like the modified InciseLogo ones I've uploaded might look better (perhaps 2 or 3 differently-sized small stars would look good decorating the space slightly above and to the right of the last letter).
Would also like to see what #10 looks like with the black lettering decorated with the small stars at the top and bottom of each letter, like the other wording, but not the 'busy' decoration of #18, #19, #20, #22, #23.
How about adding some 'dust' around the outside/behind. Something similar to the sparkles near 'category' in this screenshot: http://psdtuts.s3.amazonaws.com/237_Magic%20Night/final-image.jpg. Also, if it's possible to somehow make the star in the word 'sparkle' a tiny bit bigger and slightly brighter, as if it was a real star, that would be awesome.
Alisha, thanks for your submissions. I love #16 and #10. I wondered if you could add some small stars to the design (similar to the ones I uploaded). Also, I would love to see how #15 looks on a black background.
InciseLogo, Alisha's designs are closer to what I'm looking for, what would be your take on them? E.g. sans serif font, words together, star in the word, different colours for words etc.
Am liking the designs so far, thanks for your input! :)
Some further ideas:
- could I see more than one colour scheme? (Ideally logo on a white bg, on a black bg, and different colours for the same logo - as suggested).
- try to make the star part of the design rather than separate, I suggested instead of the 'a' in sparkle (would be interested to see your take on this) but any other ideas welcome. Not looking to have the star separate.
- really would like both words together as one word (e.g. sparklebyte) but different colours so you can tell they are meant to be two separate words. I like the ambiguity of whether it's one word or two as it will make google searches etc. easier.
- text style: ideally quite simple and modern. As it is for a web design site it needs to suggest 'techy' while also being artistic in some way, so overly cursive fonts or Courier New are not really appropriate.
I love the colours and the 'sparkly' bits you've added, however it doesn't quite match what I'm looking for. Please can I refer you back to the 'additional details' in the brief:
Would like to incorporate a star in the design, maybe replacing the 'a' in sparkle?
Would prefer all words lower case and running into each other, e.g. sparklebyte but with each word a different colour.
Star is central to this logo.
Would like the text to somehow 'sparkle', or for there to be additional sparkle around the outside of the logo (e.g. smaller stars, 'dust' etc.)
