Okay graphicmj, as long as you're okay with it. I just hate that part of it. Maybe mycroburst will consider blind contests someday.
Good luck in your other contests!
You may want to private message LanyonDesign. He or she may see that they have a message unlike seeing it in the comments area.
Good luck!

LanyonDesign,
The church I am working for is much more traditional than me. I am asking a number of people from the church and some of my friends to give their input. For very traditional people, graphicmj's design might just be too contemporary, so I'm letting a number of people from the church help me make the decision. Hang in there, please.

Dear LanyonDesign,
I request that you NOT YET withdraw from the contest. I am asking a variety of friends about the options which have been presented and I am getting positive responses about both designer's work. So please do not wirhdraw the images. Jim

draft 46. draft 47. draft 48
I like it with the text under the graphic.
Yet I think it i too small.
Let's go with the shorter text so that it can be made larger.

draft #44
very nice.
any way to make the text a bit larger?
suggestion: Lower Behold your King and underline down just a bit so line is equal to bottom of circle. Then could you stretch text across whole graphic including mother/child? Does that work?
Also, could you reduce the size of the infant's head a bit. Make it smaller than the mother's head.
Would it work to make the black circle a shade of blue or gold?
Good luck to you mnorth, I feel your efforts are worthy of victory. As for me, I feel that I've carried my design as far as it can go and it's still not doing the trick, and I don't have the time to come up with an entirely new design as I'm busy tonight and tomorrow. So, I'm dropping out of the contest, but thank you jimerooski for your consideration and thank you other designers for being kind and positive. I wish you all a merry Christmas season.

To all designers, draft 40, draft 34, draft 35, draft 28, draft 29
Would you please add the following text somewhere in the design, maybe under everything...
Option 1: shorter version
And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus" Matt. 1:21a
Option 2: longer version
And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

draft #39. graphicmj. Speaking with my wife, she didn't realize it was a woman with her infant child. She thought it was the earth with swooshes. Is there anyway to make the mother/infant images more lifelike? Thank you.

Regarding draft #34, I appreciate your efforts and I am thinking it through...Would you please put the word "Behold" in one color and "Your King" in another. ty.

regarding draft #18 mnorth, thank you for your edits... upon the suggestions of friends, could you
1. Remove the cross - they say it still looks to Easter-like
2. Make the star a bit bigger, higher in the sky, long tail. Could be more ornate or artsy
3. remove cloths by crown, guess that means placing it back on the ground, unless you can think of another place for it.
How lenient are you on colors? The brief says you prefer two colors only, but I'm noticing that you're okay with more than two. Let me know if you'd like me to incorporate more colors. Thanks.

Regarding draft #15 mnorth, wondering if you could place a star(s) in the sky, maybe on left border. Moderately long tail on bottom of star?

Regarding draft #13, Lanyon Design, a few thoughts ...
1. Could you change the snow flakes to simple stars? Keep the bigger one.
2. remove the cross from the bigger star.
3. Can you lessen the degree of the arc (of the earth)?
4. I do like the text shown in two lines, but if the arc is decreased, the text in a straight line might work better. See what you think.
5. Can you also shown me what a grayscale version would like like.

Regarding Draft #10 mnorth, A few thoughts...
1. Can you straighten out the word, rather than on an arc.
2. Put a little more space between the images.
3. The Crown seems proportionately a little big. Could it be made a bit smaller and placed up upon something to get it off the ground (maybe the burial clothes you used earlier, since it is on the right side of the cross, at least to me signifying after the the cross. We will be speaking of the burial clothes on Christmas Eve, so I could see it working there.
4. I like the color choices...it will work well for a couple different applications.
5. Can you show me what it would look lke in grayscale. One application for this graphic will need to be shades of one color.
oops, that was supposed to be a manger. I will work on your suggestions. Thank you for the feedback!!

mnorth...draft #8: this is much closer to what I was thinking. I would still like to see a manger/creche, something to make it look 'without-a-doubt' Christmasy. Could take out the burial clothes, left of cross. As is, this might be mistaken as an Easter image. Also, if the colors could be more bold, contemporary cutting-edge colors. Lastly, the font looks like a form of calligraphy; I'd prefer a more stronger and 'fun', warm font, with solid lines/eges.

Any way to remove the halos?
Remove the star-effect in background?
Move star(s) to outside the manger area?
Can you choose a font for the text that is not so square, but more friendly, warm, yet still bold.

Wisdom Productions, with your design I like the manger, the star, all in silohuette. Can you open it up - don't enclose it in a circle/oval. Make Behold Your King in bold text. In our worship center, on the platform, the congregation will see a manger displayed on the far left of stage. On the far right side of the playform, there will be a tall wooden, rough hewn cross, with a crown hanging upon it. This is why I would like to use the imagery of the manger, corss, and crown. Also see my earlier posts of designs which I like. it might help you.

heropoppy, closer, but still thinking the imagery above the cross should be much more contemporary, less traditional. Not looking for an emblem like a "patch". Also, please don't frame the image in a square or circle. Keep it open. I would still like to see a manger scene and a crown. The crown should be a subtle aspect. A dual concept of the manger and the cross/crown - of equal importance.
