Thanks again for all the submissions to this point. I've extended the project 3 more days and will finalize at the end of that period. Many designs include skylines and I've mentioned that skylines are not preferred. Please make sure that any future submissions include the following:
*Fold or peel-back graphic in bottom right
*Lower case words
*Please, NO more inset or background skylines. I have plenty of those to choose from. Think local, community, or neighborhood...not "city"
*Oval shapes for the decal, no circles
*Blue/White, Black/White, or Green/White versions
If I had to rank tonight I'd do so in the following order: 1)#23 2)#24 3)#16 4)#27 5)#25
I'm not a big fan of the skyline but I like the color and simple layout of #23 the most. #24 is a close 2nd choice due to how the decal image has the fold at the bottom-right. i love that feature. #16 is strong as well but having the skyline with such a hard contrast (black/white) makes the logo more depressing than the others.
Thanks to all for your professionalism and great work. I may extend the contest a few more days to allow time for last minute submissions. Feel free to send me a direct message if you have any questions.
Thanks again for all submissions. I want to make sure to reiterate a comment I previously posted and encourage all designers to think creatively beyond a city skyline in the logo. The products will be sold to local communities and neighborhoods and though there have been a few I've liked, any options WITHOUT a skyline are looked upon more favorably. If you'd like to substitute the word "Local" instead of "City" to spark creativity I encourage you to do so-- I might even consider changing the name to My Local Decal in the future. Thanks, again for all the great work.
As a follow up to my last post, I encourage you to Google and research the shape and traditional design of a "UN sticker" or "UN Decal" which is known for it's basic shape and two to three letter abbreviations within it's border.
Thanks for the submissions thus far. At this point, Logo #8 is the closest to the vision I had for the logo. More submissions with variations of this design would be the most appreciated. Please including the following design accents to enhance the logo: 1) make skyline decal more of an oval than a circle; 2) KEEP the lower case lettering but show in different font options. I'm looking for something more unique; 3) Make the decal "peel" in the bottom right a little more dynamic and obvious; 4) Show variations in color and border on decal (*esp. white background with black interior color)
Again, thanks for all the wonderful submissions and ideas. I truly appreciate your talent and work. If you have any questions, let me know.
Though the business is named "My City Decal" please don't let that limit your creativity to only designs with skylines. Most of our products will be promoted in neighborhoods and small communities, not large urban areas. Thanks again for the submissions.
In Draft #1 I like the color of "city" much more than Draft #2. My only dislike is that I prefer "seal-like" logos (ex. passport stamps, government seals, national flags, etc.) instead of long, horizontal layouts. Great work so far.
