thank you for your explantation temujin 1953 i didnt thought that my design match with criteria that u're looking for. its a big surprise for me, and i really glad with it. I've sent the source files to LogoDesignGuru, hope u can accept soon.
Thanks ALL for participating in this competition.I'd like to explain the reasons why I chose # 42 as the winner in this contest.
Originally, I was going for either # 12 or 13,which were the exact same design with different colors. The design clearly explained the reasons for my usage of Bangkok Blvd as the name of my new restaurant, the concept I call Temple/River. At that point I called for ' any and all' designs, hoping to look at different interpretation of the name. Draft # 42 was then submitted.
The alphabets used for # 42 were in Thai language, with a twist. Some were upside down, others written backward. All could be identified, one way or another,as Thai alphabets. And they're witten in an artistic way with a somewhat modern character, an interesting inperpretation. Quite original and what a bright idea.
The lotus compliments Thai alphabets really well, with slightly smaller petals on both sides that can be interpreted overall as the shape of any Buddhist temples in Thailand. Another beautiful and interesting twist. Adding the lines(river) under the lotus and complimentary choice of colors and rickydotovermind has,in my opinion, created a design that just can't be denied !
Those were the reasons I chose #42. I think it's only fair all participating designers know and understand project holder's thinking and reasoning in picking his/her winner.
I'd like to thank ALL participants again, especially the creator of drafts #12 & 13. You were close, really really close to being picked as the winner here.
Thank you very much for participating. You guys ( and gals ) are outstanding. I feel I'm getting much more than my expectation. It's wonderful working with designers at this level.
At this time I think the Temple/ River theme is exhausted and, therefore,we must explore other possibilities.
It's time for all out there to come up with whatever they feel the Bangkok Blvd logo should be. Please submit any and all designs you think the logo should be. A short comment will help me understand the designers' thinking or inspiration.
To 7stars :
Draft #11 is very original, but I feel the base of the Temple is too narrow causing the elongation of the figure.
Please submit another draft using #11 with the wider Temple base of draft # 12.May be with same and different combo of colors.
Please disregard the 1 star on #12. It was a mistake I could not delete or change
Draft # 3 should be eliminated - it doesn't fit the proposed project.
I prefer draft # 6 over #5,with the lines(river) running under the Temple. Please provide some variations of this design such as Bangkok Blvd in 1 line, same or similar design without circle over the Temple,1 Temple instead of 3,different colors combo of your choice etc etc.I'm sure you understand the concept and will open to any creative ideas you may suggest.
I like your alphabets for Bangkok Blvd. What an excellent choice!
Please read my comment to airborne above. The logo in draft # 4 should be simple and modern( I also plan to use the selected logo for restaurant sign )
Thank for your design.
To airborne:
Street foods in Bangkok are considered by many to be the best of all Thai foods.Since Blvd is generally much bigger (in the U.S)than street,my hope is for customers to think Bangkok Blvd is the combination of ALL street foods.
Due to the many canals,Bangkok used to be called 'the Venice of the East'.For waterways, the Blvd here is the Chao Praya River, flowing to the middle of the city and the main reason Bangkok was established as capital about 200 years ago.
The most famous picture of the River is when the sunrise over the River in front of the Temple of Dawn, another Thai institution. That is one of the best selling postcard of the country.
Will you please re-design the logo? I like your choice of yellow in draft # 1 over my preferred green.Excellent choice !
Thanks for your participation.
