    #65-#66 - I like how the lines on that car are more clearly defined, and this color is an improvement from #64. Not sure about the car itself though. It strikes me as odd that you can only see half of the end, and the line across the front (spoiler? or front of hood? I can't actually tell if that's front or rear) is a bit jarring.

    I think a front-end shot is best. Can you try a different look, but keep this coloring and style?

    Couple other things I'd like to try if it's not too difficult are having the handle of the magnifying glass pointing down instead of up, and using the Museo Sans font we use elsewhere on the page for the text.

    vwArt, thanks for joining the project! #62 looks a little bit like an egg to me though (with the yellow 'yolk'). I'm also thinking if the logo only captures one element, probably something with a car (or representing a car) is better than just getting the tempest side.

    To everyone, don't let my earlier comments stop you from including cars entirely; just if you do, please try to make it as clean and iconic/clutter-free as possible. Also, if you have any questions or need clarification on anything please feel free to PM me.

    #57 - I'm not saying give me a logo that looks like the CarsDirect logo - I was just using theirs as an example of something symbolic.

    #54, #61 - way too much shine effect.

    For font, we're just looking for something clean and modern, not 'futuristic'.

    We will most likely be extending the competition unless we get something fantastic by the end of the day, so please keep 'em coming!

    And again, it doesn't need to be a literal drawing. We want something attractive and iconic that fits on the page. If it can suggest those find/car/tempest concepts too, that's great.

    Just some random ideas for a symbolic icon:
    Maybe instead of a car, it just has a wheel, or a steering wheel, or a road, or anything that represents a car. For the tempest, it could be wind, or 'whooshing', or lighting, or clouds, or waves.. etc.

    Regardless, we're definitely looking for an 'icon' that would go beside the text, not above or around it.

    There's a day and a half left in the competition, and we're hoping to get something great by then. If not, we would consider extending the competition. So if you have good ideas but are worried about time, please don't hesitate to post your initial drafts.

    I would be interested to see more symbolic logos too. For example, I think the carsdirect logo (http://www.carsdirect.com/) is supposed to represent a road and maybe a "C" for carsdirect. If we could similarly make a really clean, iconic logo that fits in our site design and represents car + tempest or related ideas, that could be cool.

    #40-41 are too busy. We'd still like to incorporate the 'tempest' concept if possible, but the whole thing really needs to be simplified. What if we got rid of the stuff around the car entirely and just had the car, plus maybe something to suggest wind/tempest, as if the car is going fast? (Possibly with reduced opacity so as not to add apparently clutter.)

    #43 - Interesting concept for the logo. Not sure it's what we're looking for though. Also the text is overly blocky and has too much 'shine' effect, like many of the submissions. And it's Tempest, not Temptest. ;)

    #34 is cool, but I don't think it's what we're looking for.
    #26 is closest so far. The text portion is great. It would be nice if the circle looked more like a spinning tempest. Not literally like #30, just a hint of wind and spin to it. Maybe even just two angular slices in the inner border to give the impression of spinning, or something along those lines.

    No 5-stars yet, so certainly still accepting new designs that meet our requirements too!

    #18 I appreciate you showing it in the context of the site. The car=waves/wind concept is neat, but I don't like having to modify it to fit up top, nor am I sure about the dark background there.

    Not sure if I like this idea or not, but if it's not to hard to put together, what about a swirling tempest (storm) instead of the magnifying glass for the "O" there?

    I've created a couple mockups of the pages that the logo will go on, with the logo area blank. It would help if you could show me what the logo will look like on the page:

    #12 & #13 - Front runners so far. I particularly like the way you've done the tagline. I wonder if instead of a magnifying glass you could do some sort of swirling tempest with the car revealed the same way in the middle.

    Tweak to the star ratings: I will just eliminate the ones that we're completely uninterested in, so now:

    1 star - We like parts of it, but it's not what we're looking for. Please completely change design.
    2 star - Some aspects match what we're looking for, but significant changes or redesign are required.
    3 star - we like the concept, but some modifications to the design are required before it would work for us.
    4 star - close to something we could use, but still needs some work.
    5 star - will be highly considered. If you want to do a few like it, but change small aspects, it might help you win

    #7, I'm not sure what that logo represents.

    #8 is an improvement from #5.

    I'd like to see some more with a logo beside the AutoTempest text rather than above or around it though. And again, no need to include a magnifying glass.

    Maybe something with the tempest symbol I reference in the 'ideas' section of the brief. Or anything that conveys things like car, search/find, fast/swift/wind/tempest.

    #5 - Like the concept and it works well on the dark background, but as with #4 it is too tall to fit in our site design. We need something with similar dimensions to the placeholder logo you see in the screenshots in the brief.

    A rundown of the star system we will use:

    1 star - totally change the concept and design. 2 star - we like, but is not what we are looking for, so same as 1 star.
    3 star - we like the concept, but some modifications to the design are required before it would work for us. 4 star - close to something we could use, but still needs some work.
    5 star - will be highly considered. If you want to do a few like it, but change small aspects, it might help you win.

    Thanks for the early submissions. Couple of quick notes so far -

    #4 - there's no need to incorporate a magnifying glass in the logo. We just put that there for the placeholder logo, but it's not really part of the site's identity. The stylized car is kind of cool though, although it would be better if it could achieve the same effect without taking so much vertical space.

    #1 - Flashier that what we're looking for. We really want a 'clean' look that fits with the tones of the site.

    #2 - The car is too literal. More representative/iconic rather than actual pictures is preferred.
