I'm loving the progression in #6. Love the picture frame artwork. Can you think of an alternative image to feature in place of one of the butterflies? To complement the film strip, perhaps a 35mm slide or Polaroid (either might be recognizable icons). I love the butterflies but can't readily think of another good icon from everyday life to incorporate for variety. Can the "OFF THE" be less prominent (also more of a space between the 2 words) or what would it take to make the Art and Wall more legible/pronounced? Also, I had in mind the purple being the primary color so envisioned the "Art" to be in that color at least.
I'm still loving #4 for those reasons - legibility, that is, and the logo forms a nicely balanced square, not that that was a requirement or even a thought but I can see it working well in the upper left of a site masthead. I had said that the easel smacks of art but it's hard to let that one go. My jury here is looking at that one still!
I did want to say that #8 is gorgeous but don't have any further commentary as mind is spent at the moment trying to optimize the ones that I just referenced.
One other thought - sorry for the late inspiration (again, it came from one of my "jurors"), any thoughts on how we can show the cycle of life in the logo? I do celebrate life from birth to death. So perhaps focusing on these phase: baby, graduation, marriage, death.
Great stuff! I really like what I see in draft #1 - very cool font - what is it called? Or is it created by you? Can I see what that would like reversed? I'm concerned a bit about legibility. Do you have additional thoughts on this?
And I love what I see in drafts #2 through 5. Whatever can be done to emphasize that this is about photography vs. actual artwork (perhaps not the best company name for that purpose, but I thought it was too good to pass up!) Now that I see the easels (and those are fantastic pieces of artwork - out of curiosity did you create or repurpose them?), I would think they would unfortunately clearly indicate painting or other hand creations, vs. photography. Trying to pick out the best elements is tough. I love the play of purple/green in #4 and like that you got a filmstrip in there. I prefer the frames in #1 and #2 vs. #5 and think the "OFF THE" is a bit too pronounced in #2. Hmmm.. any other thoughts on what could be flying out of the frame on that one? I think the butterflies are great, but can you think of additional icon imagery that would evoke life's memories or a keepsake theme?
I completely welcome everyone's thoughts on the designs and where you think we can/should take this from you know of my web site.
