Thank you to everyone who participated in this last project. I saw some really great concepts from very talented designers. In the end there were a couple concepts that I think work really well with this site and appreciate everyone's efforts and hard work.
I extended the contest in hopes of finding the right design. The submissions are looking great. I'm going back and forth between the color combination - orange grey/black vs. green blue. Here's a few thoughts:
Product pages: I like the buy box to have some organization to it. Placement and font size of Our Price, vs. List Price and You Save as well as other elements like Product ID, social icons and trust elements are important.
Thanks for the continued submissions. However, I don't think the blue green color combinations really are going to appeal to our target skater audience I think we need hipper, grungier looks.Perhaps orange/grey and silver... Also, I'm looking to see product detail and category gallery ppages too. I'll up the prize money in the next 2 days for the contest.
Our policy for stock photos has changed and is effective immediately.
MycroBurst does not recommend the use of stock images. However, if you are submitting a design that uses a stock image (ex: website design) it is mandatory to provide the source of the image. Please provide the source in the comment section when uploading. Logos and stationery should NEVER use stock and/or clipart images. Any draft not following these guidelines will be withdrawn.
Thanks for the first submissions. Here are some ideas and clarification on the project:
This is more retail ecommerce site which means we need to be more product and category centric but still use some images in splash banners or hero graphics to convey some messaging. The message you ultimately want to convey, if you can, is that if I buy this skateboard girls will like me and I will look really cool doing unbelievable tricks.
For color I'm open to see concepts but would avoid black or dark sites with reversed out font. I did another project for camerabag.com and like the blue green concept.
For pages, I'm looking for home page, gallery and product detail page.
Logo placement should be top left. You can just do a text logo to hold the place. e.g. AllegroBoardsports.com
