This is an online service that matches youth athletes to the best team for them. the sports that these youth athletes play are baseball, basketball, soccer, football, softball and other sports. Despite this being a business that mainly helps youth athletes, the main users will be adults. Also adults are beneficiaries of the service. Thus, the symbolic element of the logo should be flexible enough to convey that this service applies to both children and adults. |

The reason we seek a combination of a "web 2.0" and "symbolic" logo is because we currently envision the logo to have the domain name spelled out and styled in 3D with crystal effects, and next to (or incorporated with) the domain name type would be a symbolic logo. The symbol will be used by itself occasionally--such as for a favicon or in a gif. We do NOT want anything cartoon-like (such as the logo for foursquare.com). We also do NOT want sports equipment incorporated into the domain name type (such as a baseball bat crossed with a hockey stick to form the T's in the domain name text. To the extent it might help you with concepts, the value the service provides includes: allows kids to have more fun and win games in their sports, saves parents time and effort to find the right team for them, gives parents and coaches control over the team-formation process. Lastly, we need the design to be of high detail so that it can be used on everything from small format web pages to large format (4 meters x 2 meters) signs. |
