It’s the American Dream. You study hard, you do well in school, you build a career, you fall in love, and you get married and build a family. Yet, that reality isn’t a right the American Government grants all its citizens. Sure everyone can go to school and build a career but when it comes to getting married to the one you love and creating a family together, there are certain citizens who are denied these rights.

As of July 17, 2003 gay marriage has been legalized in only 13 states. In fact, there are 35 states that have gay marriage bans through either laws or constitutional amendments. Opponents argue that altering the traditional definition of marriage as between a man and a woman will further weaken a threatened institution. Yet, in Massachusetts, the first state to legalize gay marriage on May 17, 2004, we find the lowest divorce rate in the country. It’s divorce rate declined 21% between 2003 and 2008.

Out of 194 countries on the globe, only 14 of them allow same sex couples to marry. The love gay men and women share are not treated equitably. It’s as if their love just doesn’t matter.

In the United States, there are 1,138 benefits, rights and protections provided on the basis of marital status in Federal law. These rights span the gamut from Social Security and Taxes to Family Medical Leave and Immigration Law. Imagine falling in love while in college with your same-sex soul mate who is here on a student visa from Venezuela. According to the US government, you have no right to stay together and your partner will be forced back to Venezuela when their student visa expires. This scenario doesn’t play out among heterosexual couples. For traditional marriages, the Venezuelan citizen would have a path cleared for them to remain in the US and build a life together as citizens. The federal protections of marriage are unfairly applied to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community yet we are here to say “Our Love Matters”.

OurLoveMatters.com raises awareness to all types of relationships in the community of mankind. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered persons should all be afforded the same rights of marriage and equality and should not be looked upon as second-class persons unworthy of the protections afforded traditional marriages. Even in this day and age, Interracial couples often struggle to define their relationship to others who glare at them through racial overtones. Our Love Matters stands up for all those who feel that they should be accepted for their heart’s decisions.

Everybody from teens to adults, men and women, and all who want to support equal rights for Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgendered people. The design should be "hip" and "cool" with a very clear message that reinforces the brand "Our Love Matters". The website which is still being developed will allow people to upload their video testimonials telling why their love matters.

Use PMS colors in your artwork. This also makes the colour separations a lot easier and more accurate.
