Thanks again everyone very much for submitting. This was a very difficult decision. There were many awesome designs. I liked each of them in a different way. I ultimately selected #169.
Wow. Some great designs coming in here at the end of the contest. I am really liking the somewhat more abstract takes on the initials, like #105. But nothing too crazy or abstract. Thanks again, everyone! Please keep submitting! I'm not done reviewing these, yet. :)
I am loving the designs and am finding it difficult to narrow it down. More thoughts: I like the darker blues over the lighter blues. I like the line under "Matthias Wagener" and not on either side of "The Law Offices of." I like "Matthias Wagener" aligned with the text of "A Professional Corporation." Thanks!
Hi, everyone. I'm getting some great designs. Thanks very much! I have been eliminating some designs (as Mycroburst instructs) to help the designers hone in on what I am looking for. Here's what I am liking a lot so far:
1. Simplicity -- not too busy. No fancy graphics or images. Just the initials, and nothing too abstract. I want to be able to read the initials.
2. I like "Matthias Wagener" in a different color to stand out from "The Law Offices" and "A Professional Corporation, like in #18. Either blue or a blue gradient is cool.
3. I like the text centered, and I like the grad line under "Matthias Wagener," like in #25.
4. In the icons with the "MW" initials, I like the use of the gradient tool, like several of you are using. I also like the shadow underneath the initials. And I like the different frame types around the initials as options.
5. I probably favor squares, diamonds or rectangles over the circles for the shapes surrounding the initials (at least generally).
I like how the submissions are getting bolder and more creative, given me more options to choose from. Think outside the box! Color, contrast and composition really mean something to me, even though I think there has to be a balance with not going overboard. This is a law firm and not a graphic design firm, but that doesn't mean the logo can't stand out! I want it to look fresh and innovative, and not like a stodgy old law firm. Thanks!
Thank you everyone for submitting some good designs. A couple of thoughts: First, please make sure the name is correct (don't forget "The" before "Law Offices"). Second, I am liking the creative things some are doing with the initials -- especially with the colors. Maybe some gradients? I thought #9 was creative and different (I don't need to see more of the same variation of #2), and I also like that #10 went with a different symbol (diamond) around the initials. I am not wedded to a square. Feel free to be creative! Third, I liked the centered text on #10 and others. Finally, I think I would avoid using light grays in the text. I want the text to stand out. Again, I'm looking for something with visual impact. Thanks!
Thanks very much for submitting so quickly! I like #2 more than #1. I like its simplicity and the masculine lines of the box around the initials. I also like how the colors of the initials match my name (although I might change the colors to stand out a little more, but that's not a big deal). On #1, I don't love the the circle around the initials, or the overlapping initials.
Although I like the horizontal format and think that's more likely to "work" for this project as far as composition goes, I'd also like to see a few designs using the vertical format.

7. I haven't decided whether I want the initials on the top or on the side.
Thanks again, everyone. Please keep submitting!
