    Contest reopened

    Hey everyone,

Super thanks for all your designs to date. I have extended the contest a further 3 days as I think some of you are really starting to get what I am after and we are so close.

The main thing I am looking for is the mark that goes with the company name. I like good typography so look at Hexart and Lovatodesign for that but I also want a strong mark such as sergem and mandala. If you can combine the two you will surely be a winner.

A mark I really like is the nintendo mark - link below:

    http://www.retroist.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/nintendo-game-cube-logo.jpg

Something along these lines along with great typography would be awesome...

Please, please send me a message if you wish for more info or direction.

Final push and I think we'll be there :)

    Thanks again everyone, excellent work.

    Cheers

Hi everyone and thanks for some great work and all the effort you have put in so far.

I really appreciate your designs and some have been really close and others, well a bit off the mark :)

Anyway final 6 hours to go and I am not convinced by any yet. The two who have got the closest are Hexart, #99 and Lovatodesign #97. But both designs just haven't grabbed me. I love the typography in how they have joined up the characters in unique styles but neither have created a great mark which is a major part for my rebranding. In the last phase if you can submit designs with similar styles, that would be great.

I look forward to your final efforts :)

    Any questions then please shout.

    Cheers

Sorry forgot to put this onto the other one

    5) Just use "interactive media" for the strapline and drop since 1996.

    :)

    General Feedback.

Hi everyone and thanks for your efforts so far. There certainly are some interesting ideas coming through :)

Based on the designs i have received so far I have a few comments which I think will steer some of the concepts in the right direction.

    Points:
    1) Don't use circles, I am trying to convey the room with the mark. A square of some type is more appropriate although the square can have slightly round corners or be abstract. Again view the Jack In the Box link which I really do like. http://fastfood.freedomblogging.com/files/2009/03/jib-logo-blog.jpg
    2) No 3D or wireframe elements. I am primarily looking for the shape as a 2d format but with the option of extruding later. Not as the final logo as I want it to be 2d.
    3) Fonts. Please try and use a sans font with some weight. Helvetica, Bliss, etc... It doesn't have to be all the same weight or even all the same font (preferably not the same font to give it some uniqueness). Also tighten the kerning up a bit on some of the designs and concentrate on the alignment.
4)Colours and Gradients. A lot of the concepts are using gradients which is fine but can we make them more subtle. The change from light to dark is too intense and sometimes it goes to light in the middle as well, making it a 3 tone gradient. Just use two tone and use the info button at the top of this page as a good reference for the red I want to use. With regard to colours please just use black, white and red. You can go up and down the greyscale with the white and black.

Some of the ideas are good but are not coming over professionally enough for me. I think if the points discussed above are taken into account then they can really be quite successful :)

The designs I am swaying towards are:
Lovatodesign - I like the fonts and what he is doing with the 3, R and D. His designs are also very polished with good attention to alignment.
Hexart - Again, a nice tight design with typography on the OO in room. I want to make the logo unique by making the typeface unique.
Otakatik - Interesting use of the cube within the logo design.
Alfdesign - Really good idea with the OO's in room making it into a cube.

Hope this helps with the feedback and if you have any questions then please shout.

Once again for all your efforts and its great to see so many different designs coming through.

    Cheers

    Hey everyone,

I thought I would just share some designs I did a while back not that I want it to influence your creativity but just to show you what I have been doing myself. I am sure you will all do a much better job than I have although I do like it when letters morph into each other as shown in the link.

Thanks peeps but not really along the vein I am looking for.

    Feedback so far:
PWD07 - needs to be vector and not really feeling the door or the fonts chosen. Really looking for a sans font which has a bit of weight behind it. Or alternatively a nice script font with weight. See my Jack In the box example.

Raven: Font is way too thin again. See comment above. The reason I want the font as a sans with some weight is because they work better in 3d. Also I like what you were thinking with the cube, not too dissimilar to the Jack In the box logo which I do like.

Raindesign: Probably the most professional out of the four so far. Not sure what the elements to the left are, i guess they are supposed to be abstract which i dont mind but it feels a bit like starwars!!!!! :)

Dany96: Interesting idea with the box/room but would like to see it more integrated into the logo. It also seems to dominant in the design.

I have done some googling to find some inspiration of the things I like to help with the brief. Any questions then give me a shout.

Also to give you a bit more background as to what my business is. I do flash applications, motion graphics and iphone and ipad applications, so whenever anyone asks what I do I tell them that I build interactive applications. With regard to the strapline we can take out the "since 1996" bit, makes me sound like a butchers....

A lot of these are done by Arpad at Deviant Art whom I really like. My faves out of this selection are:
    Jack In The Box
    Health Expedition
    Sports Distribution Australia

Designers: Submitted designs should have one concept per submission even if there are variations in colors it should be submitted separately.
