Project Holder~
Out of all of the projects I have participated in you have been so wonderful about rating promptly and giving feedback. I appreciate the involvement in your project! It's been a pleasure!
Inspiral, I like your submission a lot, but I'm not sure about the font. I like that it's clean, but it seems like it might be a little too clean for me.
Artsie9324, thanks for this latest batch of submissions! I'm particularly fond of the sun in #118, but I'm not sure about the font.
Zalds, as I mentioned, I really like the shutter sun. I was wondering if it would be possible to combine that element with #111 and have that particular sun setting behind the mountains.
Also, thank you, everyone, for being so responsive to my comments. It's much appreciated!
zalds, I really like #81. I realize the tree is forming the letter l, but I think people who don't already know my company name might not get it. Would it be possible to put the l in?
Arietta, I really like your design, #49, as well. I'm just wondering if I might prefer it with the leaves filled in black. I'm not sure I would prefer it that way, but I'd love to see it if you can.
Also, no one missed anything. The competition is for a logo and I'm not working with anyone individually. Zalds just took a little initiative and tried out a few things. Thanks again everyone!
PH....I am a little confused. Some of the designs that are being rated highly are looking more like "full scenes" rather than logos. Are you looking to also have a web page banner designed? If you are privately working one on one with a designer please let us know so we don't spend time on the project that is different than posted. Also, I see a photograph in one design which is against the mycroburst rules. Is there a photograph you are supplying designers to use as a background? Just want to be sure I didn't miss that! : )
artsie9324, thanks for the new submissions. Obviously, I really like some of your earlier ones, but I'm a little unsure about the newer ones. I'm looking for something a little more natural.
Zalds, I like several of your drafts. Do you think you could try it with a tree that looks more like an acacia tree? Also, I'd rather the trees be black silhouettes. Thanks!
My apologies to designers who've read the previous comments hoping to find information that was actually useful. Just to recap so that you can ignore everything below:
I'm a female photographer, and am looking for a design that is natural and rugged, but not overly masculine.
The sense of a journey or movement is important to me.
I'd like to see the trail component of my company name represented in the design. It does not have to be a traditional path, but I want to make sure the company name connects with the design.
Although I suggested an Africa theme in the brief, I'm certainly open to other ideas, as my current ratings of images shows.
My apologies once again, and thank you for continuing to submit your designs.
@ClassAct: Thank you, you've brought it to my attention several times now. If you've noticed, I'm rating just about every image that gets uploaded. I figure that way, people who aren't using clip art will still have an idea of what I find appealing (e.g., lion silhouettes, acacia trees, depictions of giant balls of churning plasma). I appreciate your concern, but I can assure you that the image I ultimately choose will have no stock art in it.
Now, if you are no longer submitting designs for consideration, I'd appreciate it if you refrained from commenting on my project page.
I appreciate all of your designs, but seriously folks, this isn't the place for this conversation and I'd appreciate it if you kept it off of my project page.
@artsie9324: I like several of your designs, especially #s 10, 20 and 22. With regard to #20, I like the current position of the sun, but do you think you could either drop the mountain/horizon line or reposition the sun a bit so that it looks as if the sun is setting behind the mountains or horizon line? With regard to #22, I love the trees, but I think I like the design better without the cat. He might be a little too menacing. Also, I wouldn't want to capitalize the t in Suntrail (the same for #25)
@sudip80: I love the softness of the grass in your design, but the giraffe is a little large. I wouldn't want to make him too much smaller and lose the perspective, but maybe a little smaller. Also, if possible, I'd like to include a sun in the image.
You all are doing a great job so far! There are definitely some designs I really like already. Just a couple things I thought I'd mention/emphasize:
I'm a female photographer, a rough and tumble one to be sure, but female nonetheless. A few of the fonts are a little too masculine for me.
The sense of a journey, or at least movement, is important to me.
I might like to see more of the "trail" component emphasized in one way or another. It doesn't have to be a dirt road, or anything specific, but without something, I'm afraid the design won't really connect to the company name.
Lastly, if you think you have a good idea that ignores the Africa theme, by all means, go for it!
I'm really looking forward to seeing designs come in over the next few days! Thanks everyone!
