Hello and thanks for considering my proposal. I run the Men’s Club at a Catholic church called St. Joseph’s located in Wilmette, Illinois (US). Our church website is www.stjosephwilmette.org. One of the events that the Men’s Club runs is the “Summer Block Party,” which this year will take place on Saturday, July 20th. The Block Party is designed as a community event that brings people together for kid’s games, rides, food, and entertainment (we are having a battle of the bands this year and an adult cover band as well). I would suggest that you visit the website for more information on the Church and parish – there’s even a You Tube video of last year’s Block Party on the home page, so please check that out to get a feel for the event itself. We want to design a really cool poster for this event that we can use to market the Block Party around town. I have attached some art of our Church that you might want to incorporate somehow. Also, I have included some posters of the Sheffield Garden Walk, a summer event that takes place every year in Chicago. I like these posters because they are light, colorful, and emblematic of what I think a summer block party should be (bright, lively and kind of whimsical). Feel free to use some of these themes. We don’t have a logo for the event, so feel free to create one or use some imagery to create a cool visual identify for the event (for example, the Sheffield Garden Walk features flowers – an obvious tie in to the “garden walk” idea). There can be many visual images used to promote a block party, I suppose. Let your creative juices run wild.
