Also, consider a circle surrounding the bird or integrated into the image, or in the background to frame it. Just throwing out ideas to add more depth to the logo.
#31 and #29 are the two I choose to move forward. I'd like to have the bird somehow be a combination of those two and placed to the left of the text. Like this: http://www.google.com/url?http://logodesignvalues.blog.com/files/2011/07/BlackSparrow.jpg
Again, please try some colors as well, different gradients. Let's work on refining the actual bird logo.
#33 and #32 I like by keeping it simple with a little bird just above the text. The bird needs some help with smother lines and gradient.
#45 has really nice color and gradient and depth, but I don't like the 'messaging' theme with the envelope. You could look at the #32 and 33 and apply some of the same techniques.
#42 has potential, I like the slight abstractness. Please play around more with that. the sparrow almost looks like an 'S' by its self. That could have a lot of potential if the bird were also an 'S'
-I love #6. It's colorful, abstract, pleasant, but not too cute. I'd like to see more development on that idea.
-#8 is a good idea too, but too elegant. I'd like it more minimal.
-#18 and #19 have a good direction with the bird. I'm not a fan of the dialogue bubble theme, but I do like the silhouette of the bird--it's very minimal, yet beautiful.
-#11 and #12 do a great job with the font. I like a little gradient and depth to the font. I also think the bird is adorable, but again, too cute for our purpose.
More ideas:
-http://typophile.com/node/35896 is a font I like. also the Milan 1970 http://www.houseind.com/fonts/chaletcomprime/viewfonts
-For a color palette I like: http://kuler.adobe.com/#themeID/1490158 but feel free to experiment with color too. We are not set on a definite palette.
-I'd like to see more experimentation on gradient and depth--this is a little much, but this is what I mean http://maniaco.deviantart.com/art/Bugs-2-logo-103638036
-I'd like to see more experimentation on the shape of the bird. I absolutely love this: http://logopond.com/gallery/detail/38747
I like what's happening in 4, 2, 1. To expand a bit, I'd like to try some different colors, perhaps a pallate like http://kuler.adobe.com/#themes/search?term=userId%3A422481
I also really like this logo feel, though not a bird, is very nice http://krikaskoli.is/
I'd like the bird itself to have more gradient subtleties to appear with with more depth.
There is also http://www.logobird.com/logobird-designs-a-wolda-2009-award-winner/ which if you scroll down is a little penguin thing, really cute. This is another starting place for a sparrow.

#85 I like where this is going. Less cartoony.
#106 has a minimalist simplicity. Perhaps something very similiar, without the prominent strokes, just plain beautiful lines.
Thank you everyone.

Again, I really like what has been done.
