    #47 - could you play with this - maybe the circle looks more like the circle of our www.lpfi.org logo. And remove the dots outside the circle. Also, play with the word layout and font so it is easier to read (clearer, bigger font & smaller symbol?)
    Can you try one that says SMASH Yale or SMASH USC?

    #46-48, feels very cool, tech-y, edgy, sharp... which we like, but hope you can revise to incorporate science-y or maybe university/academy feel?

    TaraDYG- we need both. While we will mainly be using the b/w image, we will still need a color version for our print materials. The logo needs to look as good or better in b/w than in color.

    PH, thanks for all your feedback thus far. I am slightly confused, however. Do you want colorful/bold designs or something that would work best in black & white? Just want to be sure going forward. Thanks!

    #42-43, please submit a b/w as main image. It's too small to see as is. Also, think about any very small changes that might make it feel more "science-y"

    I really like 33, even though it’s a bit plain. I like the fact that they spell out what SMASH means.

    32 I like how the “Academy” is positioned. Not sure I’m feeling the beaker.

    43 looks cool, perhaps even a bit too modern. I like 42 as well. In fact, I think it looks better without the word Academy like 43. (the more I look at 42, the more I like it. The image just pops!!!

    40 might be nice if the image didn’t have the tentacles and instead was just a solid half circle. In that case, the color of the solid half circle and the color of the name Stanford, Yale, USC could match creating synergy.

    I also like 29 because they use our logo people in the design. I’m not sure that needs to be the SMASH logo, but I like the connection to our LPFI logo.

    #41 - what would b/w look like? We like the concept... emerging out of a box with a science feel. Maybe add some 'smash' to it, it feels a bit like in slow-motion. Maybe a font change?

    #31 looks good, but we're trying to stay away from the traditional science symbols (i.e. atom or test tubes).

    FYI fellow designers...Berkeley does not have to appear on the design. I just put it in mine as a place holder.
