Thank you all for sharing your talent - we can't believe it's already over! We will be reviewing the final batch of submissions and making our decision as soon as we possibly can. This won't be an easy decision!
Wow - thank you for your submissions over the weekend, everyone! We continue to be impressed. We've reviewed your recent submissions and here are a few thoughts:
We like the "clean" feel in MhATA's design #100. iNTEGRiTY, #117 is our favorite of your new designs, thank you! We also like jVisualFlow's #122 (the gold in your earlier revision was too bright for us). QueenZahra, we like where you took your concept in #133!
We like Bizarre's #109 but it feels a little too formal; perhaps tweaking (or removing) the serifs would help? We also like qandha's #162 but it feels a little too heavy or bold. mycroPixel, #179 is nice but the "pixels" don't feel quite right, almost like they're off balance.
roberto, we didn't rate #130 because we don't want to be mistaken for a famous automobile manufacturer...
The only thing we didn't like so much this time around was the impression of the speech bubble or thought bubble, i.e. #102 and #104.
Designers: your work continues to impress us, you're all very talented. Thank you for your submissions! Here are a few thoughts on recent drafts.
We are finding out that it's not an easy task to find the right balance between simplicity and originality; this is something that you all surely know. Some designs, like kolniks' #51 and MhATA's #62, are great in and of themselves but may be too difficult to discern to the public. iNTEGRiTY, we like #65 as well but don't think it's "us." We had a similar reaction to #86.
Some designs feel too simple, as if we need something more to make us stand out; for example, #70 and #76.
QueenZahra, we like where you took your design in #38! We also appreciate the changes made by president in #49 and #50. monart, the logo in #45 is nice! iDesign, draft #55 is our favorite of your variations.
Keep up the great work - the competition is fierce and we enjoy seeing what you all come up with!
Thank you all for your wonderful submissions the first contest day! Here are our thoughts on the designs so far. We don't want our logo to have too much going on; for example, we feel that #1 is too busy. We like the clean feeling of #3 (which is our favorite among your drafts, purnaka), but don't like the tag line as it's been done before. We like the logo in #5, just not the font for the company name. We aren't sure how we feel about the way the "JW" is obscured by the rings in #6. We do like the idea of combining the letters in some designs; particularly #18. President, do you think you could try a similar design, but include a "C" as in "JWC" - or would that be too much?
QueenZahra, we like your ideas but wonder if there's a way to make the JW look less distorted without losing the "integration" effect? Some other things we didn't like as much: cursive-type fonts (i.e., #11 and #22); we don't mind italics, but cursive just isn't our style. Also, block-based or blocky designs (i.e. #7, #12, #19, #32); we prefer a smooth or flowing feel if we had to choose between extremes.
What we did like: the unique styles and symbols you shared with us; we want to be more than just a few typed letters! Finally, special mention: sanghyang, we really like your concept and there was much debate, but it just isn't "us." If any of you have any other questions or need clarification, don't hesitate to message us! Thank you again!
Welcome, designers! We are very excited to see your ideas! If you have read our design brief you can probably see that we are trying to give you as much freedom to be creative as possible while providing you with some concepts and minor guidelines to build on.
If you need more information or feel anything is unclear, please don't hesitate to ask! We will do our best to respond quickly to all of your ideas as the week goes on. Thank you all for your time and creative energy!
