I am impressed with all the designs we have revived thus far.
This is just announcement to let you know that we will be selecting the winning design on Saturday. We will continue to include all new submissions in our evaluation, but I wanted to also assure you that our final decision will be quick, and will be announced on Saturday.
In our original brief we had mentioned that the colors we have in mind are Red, Black, and White or Grey. I have also mentioned that we are open to new and other variations.
Two of the recent submissions draft #53, #89 have gone out of the box, and their designs were well received.
I would like to again emphasize on the fact that we are open to other color variations, and would like to see how they turn out.
Looking forward to see all the great talents' work.
As we draw closer to the close of the competition, I will start eliminating those logos that I feel are not inline with what we are looking for.
I will also use the star rating to differentiate between the logos that we like.
All logos that are not eliminated will still be under consideration. Those logos with star ratings are all considered to be top logos, but we are seeking to zoom in on a final design.
I will also try to post some feedback to those with star ratings if we felt we would like to see something different with the designs provided. We will also be happy to address and answer any questions the designers may have via private messages as well.
I'd like to thank you all again for your great efforts. I've gone through a round of eliminations, and I will give some feedback on the reasons behind it. As you will see, it is usually about the fit with the vision we have for the company. I feel it is only fair that I give some feedback, after the time and effort placed in posting the draft. We are still receiving designs, and have in no way finalized our decision, but I hope this will also help guide future designs closer to our comfort area.
Draft #59, #54, #46, #44, #43, #39, #34, #33, #30, #29, #27, #26, #25, #24, #17, #16, #15, #13, #10, #9, #7 were eliminated because we decided that the sphere does not really fit with our vision for the business, and thus have eliminated all hard 3D spheres.
Draft #1 Did not capture the spirit of what our company is about, and is to close a government agency logo in Saudi Arabia
Draft #23 the S was to sharp, and it felt more like a space element.
Draft #37 was to retro for our company
Draft #39 resembles the logo of Safeway - the grocery store
Draft #40 closely resembles or reminds me of the logo of Hyndai
Draft #43 closely resembles the logo of Pepsi
Draft #44 was interesting, but the way the S is shaped in the logo is similar to Arabic calligraphy, and in that it is a very different letter.
Draft #34, #4 too black and white / greyscale.
Draft #52, #32 they are variations on draft #51 which we like most of the three. The dark backgrounds are not a preference with us.
Draft #55 and #56 by necromancer85 is being used by the designer in multiple active projects (http://www.mycroburst.com/contests/synety-company-logo - number 839 and 840), therefore have been taken down.
General feedback to all the great designers who are participating.
Our company is a Security Solutions company. We are a retailer, and consultant in that regard. The portfolio that we have, and aim to continue to hold is of companies that offer hightech solutions.
That being said, I feel that the strong 3D effects take us way too much into the high tech arena.
I guess if we can have more of the logos be Professional, High Tech, just to bring down the futuristic trend.
The best logos that give me the "High Tech, Professional" feel from the submissions are draft #6 (and the variations around it), #28, and #32
Other drafts that I feel are good and creative without pushing us to futuristic world are #22, #35, #36
Overall, I liked most of the draft, but I just have to look at what fits best with the spirit of our business, and how it would impact the clients we speak to.
Again I thank you all for your submissions.
As general feedback, I see that a lot of the logos are utilizing the sphere as an element. I get that it lends it self to the S, and I do like some of the renderings.
I still would like o see other variations away from the sphere as well as those based on it.
I hope my feedbackis helpful.
I want to thank all those who have posted, and look forward to receiving more. I will try to give some general feedback, to help guide the process as well.
I like the simplicity and elegance of drafts #3, #5, #6 and of them I like #3, and #6
I also like the creativity in draft #7 and #11. I really like the font and small touch in the font in draft #7.
Generally speaking, I am not a big fan of dark backgrounds.
I hope this helps, and look forward to seeing more from the creative minds.
Thank you all for taking the time. Please feel free to ask questions, and I will do my best to respond promptly.
