The Finalists - The following designs would be fine on my site: cdnmike #14; neoiann1277 #19 and #20; and GizmoDesign #40 with a pen instead of pencil. A friend agreed and also liked #67 by RinuDeb.
The Winner - I'll take #40 by GizmoDesign and I'll find a pen to use and experiment with the proportions, similar to what was done originally. GizmoDesign also worked hard with the feedback provided.
Comments - Thanks to all who contributed their time and talent. It helps when you express interest in comments and changes because I was reluctant to ask for them.
neoian1277, for #19, my response is "cool". I'd put the company name in another color (white or red) and I'd increase the size of the word "shark" a bit. The company name is hard to read.
Ok -- I just felt the designer worked nicer on the right because the shadow does not interfere with the text. I will revise the sizing now. As for the distortion in the pend I fixed that in sample #12 -- is that about the size you like?
GizmoDesign, thanks for your interest in comments, etc. Please take design #10, flip the pen/shark so that it points to the left and is undistorted/slightly thinner, then increase the size of the company name. Eg. image is to the left of the company name. I'm sorry if I did not communicate this well enough before.
Thank you for the comments -- I have made your suggestion revisions along with some differences such as lowercase and darker shadowing. Please let me know what you think or would like to see.
GizmoDesign, for #10, thanks for the additional image. I prefer the original pen orientation, with the pen pointing to the left. Please make the company name larger in height. I like the use of white for "Editing" and blue for "Shark" because the service/product is prominent. The pen looks a bit distorted, not thinner.
GizmoDesign, for #7, nice work. Can you try the following, please? Make the pen slightly thinner, so that it is less dominant and matches more the profile of the shark. Move the name of the company to the right of the image and stack the two words, such that people also see the name of the company and not just the pen. I get the idea that the pen is writing the words "Editing Shark", but the name kind of gets lost. Thanks....I was typing this when you posted #8....
SpectacularDesigns, to respond to your query, maybe this will help....Design a logo for a company called Editing Shark and display it on a blue #6592bb background.
christinawiler, for #2, try one without the life saver and magnifying glass. Eg, focus on one idea, such as the pencil. Can use a different font for the word "Editing" so that it is heavier, such that the service/product stands out a bit more vis-a-vis the word "Shark". Can try the shark more in profile (eg not the entire mouth showing). I appreciate that you read the brief. Thanks.
BenjaminMichael, for #3, the "ing" gets lost. Don't need to pop up another image; I get the idea.
