Thanks everyone. The recent additions have changed my mind about using services like this one. Previously, I was so disappointed that I was actually going to hire a local designer, but now, I am going to award the design in a day or two on this site.
Good luck in all your careers.
I may be back as I am looking for logos for two more companies.
I think my people want to move a way from the dogs supporting the shield.#21 and #20 will probably be the way we will end up going. If we can put the tag above the shield that would be good.
This is how my company will use this logo.
1. Shield, dogs, tag and name on left shirt pocket.
2. Shield and tag as shoulder patches.
3. Shield, with or without dogs, with the company name next to the shield for print ads
4. Shield with dogs and tag, and perhaps with the company name in a circle around the shield for a door insigna.
So, as you can see, the elements need to lend themselves to an array or media. We were hoping for a dog and a shepherd man, but they won't reproduce as we would like, so we would like to thank those who took the time and designed the logos that way.
If it is so desired, I could extend this for three days because of the holidays, but we are getting so very close.
Can you do something like this. These dogs are a little more defined. If I have to, I will buy the rights to them, so just put them in the design with copyright on them. I will change them later.
Just clean up the rest of the image, add your blue that you have been using.
Can I see some without the crown, also, can you change the man a bit. He may look a little like the grim reaper. Also, can we add a bit of definition to the dog.
Can you also move the dog and the man away from the shield a bit.
Perhaps you could do one with some colours - perhaps some gold - panatone 872, but I like the direction you are going.
I like your logo, however, can you post some variations so that I can see what it may look like with say the shield cut into four parts with the dog and man in two parts, and a colour or gradient in the other two parts.
http://www.logodesignguru.com/images/50States/md_col5.gif. Something like this but with Shepherd the dog on one side and Shepherd the man on the other instead of the lions
Attention designers. I am looking for a particular design. Please re-read the brief.
Elements:
Illustration of Shepherd the man
Illustration of Shepherd the dog
Main body e.g. shield or similar
Head e.g. crown or similar
This is to look more like a crest than a logo as such.
We are in the security business. Something like two lions, but Shepherd the man on the left and Shepherd the dog on the right. The dog is to be standing against the main body like a lion does in other logos.

Like what you did with the S, however, dogs won't work - they needs to be more pronounced. No tag line in your design.

I've spoken with the stakeholders of our company.
Can we try some different combinations without the man and dog, and with something different than the crown.
The logo will work on some applications, and not on others due to the gradients, and if we go with solid colours, then we lose the detail.
Thanks
