Wikipedia is writing this about Danish design: Danish Design is a term often used to describe a style of functionalistic design and architecture that was developed in mid-20th century. Influenced by the German Bauhaus school, many Danish designers used the new industrial technologies, combined with ideas of simplicity and functionalism to design buildings, furniture and household objects, many of which have become iconic and are still in use and production. Prominent examples are the egg chair, PH lamp and the Sydney Opera House. The same applies for Danish/Scandinavian design of clothing, accessories and jewelry. This is what we have tried to communicate via the word 'lounge'. Wikipedia describes it in a few different ways: In architecture: Airport lounge, private waiting area offered by airlines to special customers or to those who pay an extra fee Living room, erroneously known as lounge room, a room for entertaining guests, reading, watching TV or other activities In music: Lounge music, a type of easy-listening music In other areas: Lounge suit, another name for an informal suit |
