  Can I see some things in the pictures to represent sports, science, vacationing, etc.? e.g. soccer ball, basketball, telescope, microscope, airplane, ship? Doesn't have to be all of these, but something to represent each would be nice.

  #1 good attempt. Looks too much like an autism symbol.
  #2 nice. But characters look cheesy.
  
  I would rather have the letters (PALs) on their own separate from an image.
