We are a non-profit organization with a mission to provide support to patients and their families in need of finding a matching donor for a bone marrow transplant. We aim to increase public awareness about the importance of becoming a bone marrow donor, increase the national bone marrow registry, and educate the public on stem cell transplants and their ability to save lives. When I was diagnosed with leukemia in March of 2009, I was told I needed a bone marrow transplant to save my life. I was told there is a 1 and 30,000 chance of finding a matching donor. I have not found my full match, and this is often the case for many people too. Patients and their families are then left to search the world to find their match. 30K Friends Foundation will help find that match and in essence find 30,000 friends. |
