  This project has been opened again for 3-1/2 days due to the fact that I received too many ideas with the scales of justice law icon. Notary publics do not affect justice and we cannot provide legal advice like a lawyer so any implication that we do is a problem. I would like the logo to better convey what it is we are advising on (notary public and legal document procedures) or have something that conveys advice or wisdom (perhaps an image of an owl holding onto a fountain pen? inside a notary serrated seal). I look forward to looking at your designs. Thanks very much!

  I am pleased with the general direction of a number of designs I have seen, but there are some directions that have been a concern. I've been sending comments directly to the designers but have heard that you all like to hear what I'm thinking to help you with your designs.
  
  Here are my overall comments so far:
  In addition to seeing some clean and simple designs, I am also possibly looking for something more creative that incorporates some element of the notary public business (this requires a little research) like some have done, but not on the mark.
  
  The scales of justice is not a concept that relates to the notary public area or "advising" people on notary issues. Notaries in the US are not attorneys like in some other countries and we don't affect justice in any way.
  
  I don't want to advise about color only to say that I definitely don't like yellow or mustard, pink, purple for type or single use of black by itself. I'm leaning toward darker colors, but don't want to rule out something brighter to keep it contemporary. But it has to be easily readable, including when xeroxed. #3, for example, would be a greater contender with a different color.
  
  I am looking for a design where neither New York, Notary, Advisors or Notary Advisors has too much emphasis.
  
  I like the idea of using the serrated edge circle (like #4) of a notary embossed stamp as the symbol shape and something inside either NY (more readable than some that have been sent) so it is part of name (not in addition to the name) like TD Bank's logo...or a graphic or graphics inside that is very recognizable. Having the abbreviation of all four letters on the side of the name is fine.
  
  Favorite fonts so far are "notary advisors" of #22 as well as #3 and #6 and #15 in general.
  
  I hope that helps and am really looking forward to seeing what comes out of the final 2 days.
