We are a new business and are in need of a new logo. The name of our business is Churbus. It stands for Church Business. In fact, our tagline is Church Business --> Simplified. We provide churches and faith-based organizations (particularly serving disadvantaged communities) with the education and tools needed to fulfill their purpose and impact their communities. We don't get into religious, philosophical, or dogmatic theologies - this just isn't us. What we focus on are the basics of church business (or nonprofit management) and its core tenants which we believe can be categorized into 6 groups: Leadership, Administration, Finance, Marketing, Technology, and Grant Writing. We fulfill our purpose by 1) creating a social arena where church leaders/volunteers can ask questions, benchmark ideas with other church leaders, get feedback and learn from other contributors and Subject Matter Experts on various topics. This is our blog and community which can be found at www.churbus.com. We're also working on a Marketplace (hence the MP at the end of one of the logos) that provides video tutorials, webinars, and live Q&A for members. So, (for example) our subscribers would be able to read articles from contributors who'd provide free tips and suggestions - in a blog - on a particular topic (for example how to use Adobe InDesign to create your church newsletter). They would also be able to pay for access to a How-to-Videos on the same subject. We provide continuing education for church leaders within the area of church business management. ******The Assignment***** Whew! Sorry to be so long winded. What we'd like is a logo that is both professional but fun. Church Business (and quite frankly business in general) can be a bit boring unless you're passionate about it (which fortunately we are) - however it is a necessary evil to protect the church legally and to see it fulfill its vision. So, while we want to convey that we and our experts know what we're talking about...professional...we're not beyond having a good time with a sometimes difficult topic. This is why we like the idea of an illustrative mascot - a Mr. Churbus if you will. We've played around with using colors to represent our 6 categories (see the flame in the attachment) and maybe there is a way to combine both. The vector image we liked could be purchased from istockphoto - which is fine - however we would like the Churbus mascot to be an African American character. Our research has found that minority churches have some of the worst organizational foundation - typically due to lack of knowledge. SO...we need both - a cool Churbus logo and a fun mascot or icon to match. We are OK with getting a great logo to start and adding the mascot later...if necessary. We could just start out with some type of symbol. This is because the logo will be used on the web, in print, on t-shirts, stationary, banners, and hats. We would also like to see how the logo would look as an inverse color scheme; ie. on darker backgrounds/grey-scale Thanks for your consideration! |

No crosses. Although we exist to serve churches we are NOT a religious organization per se - so we would like to avoid the use of crosses or other religious images. See uploaded file for our ideas/suggestions. This is just us fooling around...you're the expert...we trust you. |

| logo_category_icons_24728.pdf We realize that the concept for this logo is a bit trickier with the name being a combination of 2 words. So we started sketching some icons for our 6 categories and how they could be represented: 1) Leadership = a single bust of of a person 2) Administration = a form 3) Finance = a dollar sign or bar chart 4) Marketing = maybe an old style megaphone shaped like a cone 5) Technology = computer/network symbol or or iPad (or maybe an iphone?) 6) Grant Writing = a community (buildings), some cans of food, or maybe some helping hands? Again...food for thought. |

| Cornerstone_24851.jpg I apologize designers....I don't want to be one of those project owners that continue to change the concept. Please take a look at this cornerstone. This is very symbolic - both structurally (as we believe that Church Business is the cornerstone of successful churches) and biblically. Maybe we add the business name inside the cornerstone, below it, or above it. We could even make the blocks around the cornerstone different colors to represent our 6 categories! | Churbus_25084.png Please take a look. This is kinda what we were thinking. Those colored rectangles are supposed to be bricks. Just want to see how this looks. Maybe it works - maybe not. We do like all the other color variations that you have presented - especially #73 |
