CNI Summit Washington, DC November 1-2, 2013

  Yes

The logo for this unprecedented and historic summit must be designed keeping the following in mind:

1. CNI is an established, serious nonprofit organization that has been working for years toward more productive Middle East policies.
2. Event logos submitted for consideration must be “world class.”
3. The other top tier sponsoring organizations are an established magazine and non-profit research institute.
4. Sponsoring organization websites are http://www.councilforthenationalinterest.org/, http://IRmep.org, and http://www.wrmea.org/
5. Event speakers and panels will include former top diplomats, military and intelligence officers; elected officials, leading academics, historians and analysts.
6. The summit is an event that is open and welcoming to all members of the public, not just policy experts or wonks, and is charging a registration fee.
7. The event will present critical thinking and unblinking analysis. It is not about convention, sacred cows, and maintaining the status quo.
8. Target segments for the event includes graduate political science and international relations students, journalists, congressional staffers, as well as vocal long-time critics of U.S. regional policy.
9. People should understand this is an interesting, possibly once in a lifetime, opportunity to travel to the capitol and learn about an exciting new direction for the country from top experts.
10. We do not wish to incorporate particular symbols such as the eagle, dove, or any icon associated with the military in particular or national security state in general.
11. We are open to incorporating a key icon such as such as George Washington, who warned against forming "passionate attachments" to foreign countries in his farewell address. We are open to using the imagery of the Capitol dome to communicate the event location.
12. We are open to use of symbols or suggestive design associated with rigorous examination.
