I want to thank everyone for their help and support on this project. All of the submissions were fantastic. Please keep in mind that Dark Corner will also be starting projects for web design, t shirts, and stationary. Please don't get rid of your concepts. It was very difficult to make one choice when their is so much talent to choose from. You guys are awesome! Good luck down the road and look for our other project submissions real soon.
The logos are looking great! I really like the ones that are utilizing the moonshine jugs, whiskey snifters, barrels, etc. For this project it is crucial to show the viewer what it is we do through a symbol. Also, I like the creativity of those designers that are trying to incorporate the dark corner idea. Some of the designers have tried to combine multiple symbols on one logo it looks really good. At the same time, the single symbol logos are great too.
Remember our theme is vintage meets industrial. We are thinking wood vs copper/stainless steel. This doesn't necessarily mean the logo needs to be metallic. We like the masculine, warm earth tones of copper, red, brown, tan, black, etc. The fonts should be a combination of clean, sophisticated, and creative. I like to see "Dark Corner" in a different font and color than "Distillery" most of the time.
Since we will be using this logo on a webpage, sandblasted sign, merchandise, and business cards I think it is best that we don't get too creative with mirror, reflection, and lighting effects since they will not be seen although some of the shadows are neat.
I want to personally thank you for your hard work and dedication to the project. Every designer has brought fantastic ideas to the table.
#13 I like where you are going with this logo. Could you change the dark corner to a more earth color like copper, red, brown, etc. It looks like gold or brass now. Also could you try and change the burst of light to a more blurry, faded light?
#11 Instead of the lines beside distillery what would it look like to have a little crescent moon on each side? Also could you try two small whiskey glasses called Glencairn. Google it. If not can we try to incorporate a moon into the C or O of Corner?
#7 Thanks for utilizing the whiskey snifter. Could we try and go with a different font and colors. I would like to see more old world and earth tones. Maybe the whiskey in the glass should be darker like amber or burnt honey. Keep up the good work.
#4 I do like the font but would also like to see another font. Please try something Gothic. Black Chancery and Ringbearer are two fonts I enjoy off of www.dafont.com.
#4 I like the lighting effect you put on the logo. Could we try another color for dark corner that pops a little more with the light? The white distillery looks good.
#3 Good work! Could you try a different color combination? I would like to see distillery a different color than Dark Corner. Lets see what it looks like without the C and D connected.
Designers, feel free to use more than two colors. Remember the logo should be masculine and include warm earth tones. We want old to meet new and rustic to meet industrial. Think vintage oak barrel, stainless steel metal, copper pot still, whiskey sniffer, etc. I would like to see someone try to use the element of dark and light to create a dark corner.
