I can't decide between the fonts for the 'Malennex' text in drafts 43 and 59 so will have to get back to you on that.
I think the symbol size in proportion to the text is best in draft 47.
Re the symbol, it would be great if I could see the following three options:
(1) The symbol in draft 59 but wuth a large knot symbol on top of the smaller ones instead of the needles on top. With the large symbol, please have it shaded in grey and outlined in black as in the original symbol example given.
(2) The symbol in draft 25 but with the knot symbol shaded with a black outline rather than completely in black (as in original example logo provided). Please also remove the needles from the symbol.
(3) Draft 59 but with the needle in white but outlined in black (as in draft 30) with no white space around it.
Perhaps try the same font for the word 'Malennex' as the Hield logo:
http://www.hield.co.uk/
so that the higher letters do not look as high and therefore don't ruin the symmetry whilst still being Title Case?
Love draft 28, especially the shield shape and the smaller text font. A few comments....
There's something about the font 'Malennex' that I'm not liking. I like the clean font, want it in title case, but I think the symmetry of the logo is ruined by the 'M' and the 'l' being higher than the other text.
The symbol also needs to be larger in proportion to the text.
I want the symbol to consist of rows of the knot symbol in order to create a similar pattern look to draft 16 (i.e. if you look at the larger version of the draft 16 symbol you will notice that the pattern is actually a series of images.
By having the crossed needles in the symbol, I'm trying to draw the attention of the eyes to the centre of the symbol. In order to do this,the needles may need to be a darker colour to stand out against the backdrop pattern of the symbol.
Once these changes have been made, could I also see a version of this with the black and white reversed?
In addition to my request below, would it be possible to view the following designs?
(1) Design A
Based on Design 16, but use the fabric pattern in the image on the following link instead: http://forbesclan.com/images/tartan2.gif. Please also move the thimble from the top of the symbol to the centre of the shield (in front of the fabric). Use the font of draft 11 but have the smaller text in non-italics. Make the wrought iron look more like sewing thread rather than flowers/wrought iron.
(2) Design B
Based on Design 16, but use the fabric pattern in the image on the following link instead: http://forbesclan.com/images/tartan2.gif (but use a different pattern size than Design A so I have a comparison). Please remove the thimble from the top of the symbol. Please insert a white button in the centre of the shield (in front of the fabric). Perhaps have a different font for the text than already used (but in the non-classic style). Please make the black line around the shield look like sewing stitches. Please remove the wrought iron detail from the edges of the symbol.
(3) Design C
Based on Design 16. Please remove the thimble and the sewing needles from the top of the symbol. Please insert the crossed needles in the centre of the shield (in front of the fabric) (as in draft 19). Perhaps have a different font for the text than already used (but in the non-classic style).
(4) Design D
Based on Design 16, but use the fabric pattern in the image on the following link instead: http://forbesclan.com/images/tartan2.gif (but use a different pattern size than Design A and Design B) so I have a comparison). Please insert a black button in the centre of the shield (in front of the fabric) but make the button a smaller size than previously drawn. Perhaps have a different font for the text than already used (but in the non-classic style).
Many thanks in advance. Your efforts are much appreciated.
I think you were right about the text - the non-classical text of 'Malennex' seems to look better than the classical text.
Could I please see the 'Malennex' text in some similar fonts to the one in draft 11? Please also show me a version with the smaller text in italics and a version of the smaller text in non-italics.
I like the fabric version of the symbol in draft 16 - could I please see a version of it without the thimble on top?
In addition to my comment below, it would be much appreciated if I could see some of the following options:
Draft 11 but without the button shaded in black and without the flowery vines in the backdrop and with the ribbon of draft 10 but with measuring tape instead of ribbon.
Same as above but with material grain rather than button on the shield.
Same as above but with the needles within the shield rather than the button.
Same as above but without the thimble.
Same as above but with the measuring tape in same size and style as draft 2,
Same as above but with small text in clearer font (the italics are hard to read).
Same as above but without shield.
Same as above but with symbol above text and the text centre aligned.
Same as above but with an 'M' on the shield rather than the button.
Some possible amends to draft 11:
(a) use the ribbon style and soze of the one shown in draft 10 (but still use tape measure rather than ribbon);
(b) instead of a button on the shield, have no picture on the shield but instead show the grain of fabric on the shield;
(c) make the text 'Malennex' in a classical font style, and make the smaller words not in italics.
In terms of the symbol, I've got an idea based on the versions already submitted.
Perhaps you could try a new image based on draft 7 but with the following amends:
(i) use the shield of draft 7;
(ii) replace the ribbon in draft 7 with measuring tape (to keep in line with the tailoring theme);
(iii) make the centre of the shield a picture of a button rather than the needle and thread;
(iv) replace the swords in draft 7 with sewing needles;
(v) replace the crown in draft 7 with a thimble;
(vi) incorporate the elaborate thread used in the background of draft 10 into the background of this new image.
I'm not keen on the crown in drafts 1 to 10, nor the bottom ribbon on drafts 1 to 9.
With the text of the word 'Malennex', perhaps some text that is a bit more classical in style?
I like the crossed needles in draft 10 but not with the thread through the eye of the needle.
With the symbol, could I please see something without a filled in background of the symbol? For example, refer to the Hield and Sorority logos referred to in the brief.
I like the more elaborate style of the symbol of draft 10 and would like to see some more ideas similar to this.
I like the black and white logo but could I see a version where the text/drawing is white and the background black?
I also like the incorporation of the needle in the logo but not so much the sword or the crown. Could I see a version of the logo with two needles crossed with something circular around it?
Also not sure about the text - perhaps something in title case.
Please remove the word 'Malennex' from the symbol.

Please also left align the smaller wording below.
