| This will be the logo for the University of Texas Longhorn Band Drum Section. See http://www.texasdrums.com/main.php and http://www.music.utexas.edu/LonghornBand/. It will be used by current and alumni drummers. It should be simple, bold, and can incorporate a stylized version of some of the images I am sending: a Stetson cowboy hat; a Texas Lone Star stylized of course; the back of the Longhorn Band uniform with "Texas" and fringe (see photos); a stylized marching snare or marching tenor. Several of my early attempts had a stylized snare drum and you can use that as a springboard. We CANNOT, however, use the Longhorn logo in any way. My early attempts at this had a stylized Longhorn logo which cannot be used because of copyright issues with the University of Texas | ||

| Traditionally, the font has been Impact with Texas stacked on top of Drums. In one of my examples, I used a woodcut brush in Illustrator to try to tie in with a slightly Western theme of the Longhorn Band. I also used a slightly Western font: Caslon Antique for the same reason. These are not mandatory, just some starting ideas. | ||
