1) software is not related to science industry, so any scientific objects in the logo wouldn't work well
2) I like some variations of logos that include outline of an almond - like this: http://www.australianalmonds.com.au/images/Logos%2520%26%2520Icons/NPA_Logo_RGB_horiz%2520133KB.jpg and this: http://www.australianalmonds.com.au/images/Logos%2520%26%2520Icons/aba_logo.gif
3) Logos that included some outline of a cloud is also a good path. Generic logos (not related to name) will also work.
4) Colors should be muted or flat; no bright yellow or orange please.
MycroBurst permits you to submit unlimited designs with unlimited variations. However, if you are providing 2 or 3 different color versions of the same logo in one draft, please make sure that if the particular draft gets finalized, each color version should be separated before you will send the final files.
