#224 can you make the character slightly taller? Some of the others thinks he looks a bit squashed.
Also can you swap the thickness between stone & giant, so its stone thin and giant bold.
#194 we like where you are going with this. It works well in 2 color. I can't give you too much specific direction, but the character needs to be pushed further. I would try a few different approaches and remember this project is nearing a close.
#173 The contrast in the character is looking better. You should try messing with your design more to see if you can come up with a winner. Maybe try variations of the character, including the face.
mvillamin #172 we like this hands on version, but we realize that the added contrast to the character is overpowering the type. Try to find a nice middle ground between #172 and #79. Also one that is more solid colored with the clear outline. We do like the refinements that you have made to the hands and body shape. We want the facial expression to convey more subtle strength and think you should look at #125. Their neutral expression is much more successful.
#167 is the best of your designs so far. I recommend just creating some variations of your design and see if you can come up with a winner.
#175 The color and type are better. The green for giant might be a bit too light though. Can you also make a version with the type all one line? The idea of using both the stone head and the beaker is nice, but way to contrasted and busy.
Good luck everyone. As no design is truly dominating, I am certain the winner is going to come down to a vote amongst our executives.
Thank you designers. There are some strong designs that are really starting to pull away from the group. We have extended the project in hopes of tweaking and finalizing the top logos. We have ranked the top designs with comments below. Even though we are giving you feedback, please don't get trapped in focusing on the comments alone. You are the designer and have had the inspiration thus far.
#146 We like the type treatment. It is very strong. We like the addition of a character and its simplicity, but we do not like that character.
#134 Please work on pushing the beaker further, possibly semi filling a beaker with a liquid. Also change the colors. We like greens, greys, blacks, and whites, not the blue.
#125 We like the stone figure and the complimentary green really works well. We don't like the grassing coming out of the mouth like hay, don't like the drool in the mouth or the dripping on top. Consider maybe a full grassy base or maybe grass coming out of the top of the type slightly covering the head.
#116 We like the layout and the colors are working well. The simplicity of the character also works, but he does not look so much like a stone giant as he does a megaman villain. Continue working on this design.
#99 We like the stone character, but it is too dark. It needs more contrast. Also consider using a shade of gray instead of black for the stone. The typography is also very weak.
#79 Take the thumbs out was a good idea, but you made the fingers too round, they made the hands not fit with the rest of the body. Please try a few different variations of the character and mess with the hands a bit more.
#10 We like your type and layout, although it needs more contrast. Also you will need to attempt adding a character of some sort. The logo will not win with type alone.
We hope you designers we specifically have mentioned can find some inspiration to really drive these designs through the finish line, and we hope those of you not mentioned can look at these designs and comments and use them to influence your ideas and designs. Good luck!
We apologize for the minimal feedback thus far. Currently we are not responding to personal inquires privately. We want to keep all feedback here for now.
#79...We really like the clean lines of this character and type. The hands look like they have thumbs-up. Would you be able work on the hands and make them not look like they have thumbs-up. We want to see this design developed further.
#99...The rock character is really cool and different. Could we see you play with this design more? Maybe color the type and try using sans serif fonts. We want to see this design developed further.
fixdesign...We like your clean style. We would love it if you could go back to look #13 and play with it some more. It is really different and we would like to see it designed further.
neoian1277...We like your art and style. Could you try a more serious version? We do not want to appear too young and cartoonish. Also 'Labs' is part of our whole name. It should be 'SGL' or 'Stone Giant Labs'
Thank you designers for all your entries thus far. We know you are looking for feedback and wanted to start by responding to some of the designs that are, for various reasons, sticking out to us. Hopefully our comments will help influence future designs.
#1 and #2 are a good start at a logotype and integrating a icon into the type. The way 'giant labs' fits together and some of the other type integration is working well..
We really like #13 and its clean look of type. The icon is really nice too but they almost appear to be bowling pins or chess pawns. We appreciate the refined look.
In #14 the icon and type are not integrated. It would be nice to see the stacked rocks pushed further and incorporated into the type. The rock stacking is also too close to resembling the common shape of a pile of poo.
We thought #34 had the most successful rock character thus far. But he does have a bit of an undesired belly and brow line making it look like he is wearing sun glasses.
#32 and #33, I can tell you are aiming more towards my comment about liking the D&D stone giant. That icon is too demonic and not the direction we are looking for.
One thing is certain, a simple typeface saying stone giant labs with a rectangle around it will not suffice.
I have also gone through and tried to apply stars to all of the designs.
We hope these comments help inspire some great logos and look forward to seeing what comes next. Thank you all!
