THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR HARD WORK... THEY WERE AMAZING. IN THE END I CHOOSE #248. THANK YOU!

Just trying to decide.... in the mean time, BookSmarts is one word and Bookkeeping is also one word. Thanks!

#188 seems to have a nice polished, finished feel to it.

Can I see something that doesn't have to do with a book? More accounting like money, dollar sign, ledgers, etc? Maybe a unique font? Something very simple and clean? Thanks

I'm afraid I may have painted a small box for everyone to fit into. Please don't be afraid to try new colors, new designs, new ideas that are different from what has already been posted. If you want to try a brain??(http://www.hasbro.com/cranium/en_US/), or multiple accounting symbols in a series of circles (see neonlite's work) or an image totally different from a book, go for it. There is a lot of talent out there and a lot of different designs. I'm sorry if I've seemed to rigid in what I want.
I thought I may need an image to the side of my company name, but if you think something else would look better, please try it.
The bottom line is I need something clean and professional (without being too serious) that would fit with my website and being an accountant.

BTW, the reason I invited a lot of the designers I did was because some of the designs in your portfolio were things I was drawn to. I'm confident we will get something awesome.

Lets rock it!

Mickle and MNorth, thank you. I like what I chose, but Mickle, you are right on... I feel a little ripped off getting someone else's design. I appreciate your feedback, everyone.

So I'm not sure where to go from here. The moderators said I can re-open the competition for 3 more days, but maybe everyone is sick of "booksmarts" and I don't want to beat a dead horse. What does everyone think? It definitely looks like the Iowa library logo.....
Why don't I go over a few of the designs to see if it would be constructive feedback in case you do want me to re-open. I have a client who is a very talented florist as well as an interior designer who loved #155... very simple but I didn't feel like it would fit my website. I loved it, but thought it wasn't quite right for accounting.
I liked #176, I thought it had a lot of clever elements that I really liked, but I thought it was a little too busy.
I love #175 because it's simple and clean, could fit with my website and fit my name. I thought I could easily throw the floating book on a t-shirt or bumper sticker and it would look cool, which is why I chose it. The colors weren't too out there, would match my website, but added life.
I like #150 but it almost felt too masculine for me?
I had a few people who loved #128 and I thought it was very clever as well, but again a little too masculine and busy? They loved it and thought it fit "accounting" very well.
I love the style of #125 but felt like I maybe wouldn't be able to throw those pages on a t-shirt by itself. Keeen's work is amazing though.
I love #106 and the "b" within the "b" is so clever. I could definitely advertise that logo, but in the end it was just a little too busy for me.
I thought #96 was creative but almost to "cartoony" and not quite the same style as my website...
I thought #90 was very clever, but I could I advertise just the book element? I thought it may be too plain by itself?
#61 was a very interesting take on the name, but again, I didn't have a iconic logo I could advertise by itself.
I love the simplicity and uniqueness of #53, but I didn't feel like it was quite the right look for my website, and maybe too simple?
I thought #49 was very clever, as well as some of the similar designs with a "b" and an "s" makes me think of b*** s*** accounting and it just didn't take my breath away. #45 was awesome, it just felt a little too bulky and masculine.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't want a really feminine logo. I don't want something too executive like a law firm, even though I loved #31, and it would have matched my website nicely, it just felt too serious.
Anyway, please give me your feedback. I'm not trying to bash on anyone's logos, I love them for the time and creativity that went into it, and they are awesome, it was a combination of elements I was looking for and I really wanted something that just felt unique, cool and professional without being too serious, and something that could stand on it's own.
If you want me to extend the contest, I can, but only if you are interested.
Thanks.

I feel so badly choosing just one entry. Thank you everyone for your hard work on my behalf. This is an amazing website with fabulous designers and ideas. Best to you all.

OK the feedback I'm getting is that I need my logo needs to be to the left of my company name. thank you... these are so amazing and I'm overwhelmed to choose just one. thank you.
8 septembre 2011 18:43 BookSmarts Porteur du Projet
It's booksmartS with an "S" at the end. THANKS!
8 septembre 2011 15:06 BookSmarts Porteur du Projet
We need to avoid BS accounting since it sounds like the curse word. =) Can we try just a "B" or a "BSA"? Even "BA", just not BS. Thanks!

simple simple simple... very basic and clean is what I'm hoping for. a client of mine is a floral designer and she said some of the logos are too busy.
thank you everyone for your submissions! they are so great. i hesitate to rate the logos and am instead offering feedback privately. I don't want to hurt feelings or have people remove their drawings. thank you.

Just to clarify for everyone, is booksmarts with an S on the end...
7 septembre 2011 15:02 BookSmarts Porteur du Projet
Could I see #58 without the handle on the book? I keep thinking it's a mug, but I like the concept. Could you add an S to smart? It should be BookSmarts. Could I see it in the green color and also in blue? Thanks!
7 septembre 2011 14:58 BookSmarts Porteur du Projet
Keeen can I see a variation of #16? Now that you explained the turned page I get it. I'm wondering if you could do something similar but maybe more obvious to someone less artistic like me? If there was some small decal similar to what you have (turned page) I could maybe use it on a shirt or bag, without having to write out the whole name. Anyway, I would love to see something similar with a different image. Thanks!

Please don't withdraw or delete your submissions! Just becuase it doesn't have a rating doesn't mean I don't love it. I'm relying a lot on feedback from clients and friends and the responses I'm getting is the "SIMPLER THE BETTER". So, please don't delete things because it may be the winner. Thank you! I love what I'm seeing!
7 septembre 2011 14:52 BookSmarts Porteur du Projet
Can I see #62 without the arrow's on the S with just the book next to it? Also, the accounting and bookkeeping in one tone of color? Thank you!

Projects that inspire are below. They are all simple, and the image/logo can stand alone from the business name, representing the company and industry. I've been scouring the website for ideas and can't find some I love but here are a few, just for ideas:
and I love the logo for thedesignguru...vitt law firm on the home page, http://logoguru.co.uk/drafts/display/contest/133877/draft/1100316

#16, I like the colors and font, I like the black part on the K... kind of different. I'm not sure what the back thing is right before the B? It kind of looks like a 7 but could also be a bookstop for a bookshelf? Could I see something in its place like a modern light bulb or a brain? Maybe this is a stretch, but perhaps you could make it cool?
4 septembre 2011 10:20 BookSmarts Porteur du Projet
rickart, I think #8 is great... could I see it in gray & blue? I like the shadowing on it...
4 septembre 2011 10:14 BookSmarts Porteur du Projet
adr75, I think I like #1 more than #10... #10 seems a little too busy. Do you think you could modify #1 and instead of the symbol above booksmarts could you do a "b"? The current symbol reminds me of an "e" but I think it would be really cool with a b?
