Draft #31 has provided a very interesting perspective on the treatment of the owl! I like the idea of having the owl treated as part of the "o" in "owl". Can the colour be more vibrant though?
Draft #26, #27, #28, #29, #30, I still love your whimsical owl. But the colours are really not appealing to children. Think McDonald's bright red & yellow; think the kind of blue in Thomas The Tank Engine. Check out this cartoon call Pocoyo, lovely shades of colours that have strong strong appeal to children.
I like the improvement on draft 22, the whole logo now is much bolder and has more energy to it. But I don't like the name "Zany" being split into 2 lines. We are building a new online store and it's important that people read the name correctly instead of having to guess whether it's Zan Y Owl or Zany Owl.
For draft 23, 24 & 25, I appreciate the thought of placing the slogan inside a speech bubble. It's a cute idea. But from a logo application point of view, I would prefer to keep the symbol separate from the tagline as there might be situations whereby I would just need the symbol with the name "Zany Owl Toys".
I appreciate the thought behind draft 18 but the overall feel is abit too harsh for my liking. I want the brand to come across as a fun grandpa a child wants to be friend with, not a nagging teacher. The tagline is meant to be a tongue-in-cheek poke at parents.
I like the slightly "insolent" posture of the owl in draft #3. But the overall logo feels a bit too passive. Would prefer something that is more bold, more vivacious and energetic.
I like draft 7 a lot too! Love the owl!!!! But I'm always a little worried when I have to deal with a logo that has so many different elements "floating" around and nothing to really hold it together. Do you think it's possible to add something to help hold all the 3 elements together?
I really like drafts 2,8,9 & 10, especially draft 10. Love the boldness and the slightly whimsical feel of the fonts and the combination of colours feel perfect. Love the way you bring all the elements together and cleverly use the word "toys" as the "branch" for the owl to perch on. The only thing that's keeping me from selecting it is that the owl looks a bit "lost" or "petrified". Is it possible to make the owl look more like he knows something others do not? Or even at least a more mischevious look would be better.
I feel that this design looks a bit generic, it can be a logo for any children's product. I would like a symbol to be more relevant to the name "Zany Owl", as mentioned in the brief, sort of like an eccentric owl grandpa but with a real fun side to him.
