Blues, you decide other colors. I like the idea of an ombre shading of blue to green, to suggest the "greening or awakening of the earth" through the rain/words. I think I'm looking for a rich, bold, artistic and detailed image representing nature and writing connected, but I am open to other artistic interpretations. I tend to prefer artistic rather than stylistic or simplistic designs. I do not like a wishy-washy or pale coloration--please try using contrast colors or outlines to make lighter colors stand out. This logo will stand alone on a business card, so I want it to really catch the eye and pop, and also intrigue people into looking more closely. | ||

I want the logo to tell its own little story. I like logos in which the elements are linked to suggest transformation. I like to see asymmetrical designs as they feel more dynamic to me. I prefer feminine lines and fonts. I'd like to see a variety of representations of rain, and tend to prefer more artistic or realistic depictions vs. symbolic (i.e. a single drop of rain). Please try the logo all lowercase: words like rain, or all caps: WORDS LIKE RAIN. I don't want each word capitalized (Words Like Rain) because it looks strange and changes the meaning. One possible idea: an ink bottle filled with stylized water, rain or storm (perhaps in the style of Japanese woodblock prints), tipped so that "raindrops" spill out onto a page or a book, to spell words like rain? The image could incorporate any of the following: pages, books, rain, raindrops, clouds (the silver lining kind), ink, inkwells, quills, pens, letters etc. I also like the idea of raindrops rippling a surface or puddle, the way a drop of water creates ripples that move ever outward, and the image of water on this logo: http://lakeshorewriters.net/ It's important to me that the logo convey two ideas: the generosity of rain, and also idea of flow of creativity. I don't want an image that looks too "bottled," so if you try the ink bottle idea, be sure to suggest connectivity or flow by tipping the bottle, putting a quill into the ink, setting a rainstorm over the bottle that also rains onto the page below, using the "ink" to write the words of the logo. I am enjoying the process of connecting with designers over these ideas and will be very involved in feedback so that your creative efforts can be focused |
