Design points for Seguro Homes Business cards / van decals / lawn signs Here is what I was thinking I am a local home builder in the Toronto Canada area. Most of my projects are done in the following manner, buy a property with an old home on it, demolish that old home, and build a new 2 story home. Find me on Facebook. 1- I will be making 3 things, business cards - van signs (decals) and stick in the ground signs with the new design. (Please keep this in mind) So… I am looking primarily for a logo. A logo that represents “home building” and that people will look at and say “that’s a guy who can build me a home” but at the same time would like to have something modern looking. 2- A card that has a large logo to the left side or at top is good. Then the info to right side or at bottom of card. (Would still like to fill card as much as possible and not look empty) 3- The background colour will work best with white. (Cards and ground signs may be seen well with black or coloured background, but van is white and may not work well with coloured background). Or another possibility is to have a reverse happen. (White or coloured lettering/logo on a black background, then reverse everything, and have black or coloured lettering/logo on white background) 4- The direction of the company colours I would like to follow are fire engine red(s) and navy blue(s) (but this is not set in stone) and to use dark black for outlines. I do like outlines because I find that it makes lettering/logos stand out more. Colours not to use are green(s) brown(s) pink(s) orange(s), these are my last choices. 5- This item is the important one. Several ways the design can be done. Idea #1- use a logo that uses the first letters (SH) as the main logo (see logos "Hilton" "M2" "Hemroc"). Idea #2- Use a logo that looks like something that resembles “homes” (see examples "Divine" "Tc Design"). Idea #3- A combination like "Hemroc" (but with a house, instead of a hard-hat). Of all the choices on how to design, this may be my first choice (depending on the creativity on the logo). 6- Needs to have a "Find us on Facebook" symbol on the card & van decal (preferably bottom right). 7-Info to have on card is: SEGURO HOMES Build & Renovate Paul Seguro (card only) 416-836-3671 segurohomes@gmail.com I will then be taking my name off when it comes time to make van and ground signs. 8- I prefer simple strong bold fonts and not calligraphy type of fonts. 9- Please see if shadows and things like that may work well. This may make name/logo stand out more. Or even a shadow in the background overall. |
