Oikos {oy'-kos} is the ancient Greek equivalent for home, house or family. (Wikapedia) Oikos is a word that relects those with whom you are in daily contact with: your family, your peers, your barista, your grocery clerk, etc. It is the people in your realm of influence. Oikos Ministries is taking the Gospel message into the public school arena through zero hour bible classes, after school and evening bible studies, women's bible studies, speaking engagements, conferences and retreats. Our audience is primarily teens, college age kids and women. We want our logo to be hip and have some flair. Some websites that might help get a feel for a possible style are: www.blushbridalboutique.com (not pink but the simplicity is nice as well as the background pattern and even the stripe if it were red. The simple font on this one is nice also. |

The mission of Oikos is to create a "chain reaction" or "ripple effect" through our ministry. Perhaps one of these concepts can be considered in a symbol. We also like the idea of tying in the O. We noticed in the Audi symbol it looks like O's connected. Something like that is a possibility. We also discussed the idea of having the phonetic pronunciation in our logo to help make it stick. {Oy'-kos} With that said, we are very open to the creativity and ideas that you as designers have. We are hoping for something hip with a flare that could be appreciated by teens and moms. Incorporating a cross into the design is optional. There is a cross design on www.silverspoonstudio.com in the second to last photo under "projects" and then "print work", that is cool (on a wedding invitation). |
