Thanks for your continuing efforts, we appreciate it.
All the designs we have been getting are focused on us the software company. The logo needs to be totally focused on our customer. He is the "I" in irented.it.
Our customer will tell his family, friends and colleagues, "I rented it". He will write "I rented it" on sticky notes, he will doodle it while talking on the telephone. He will do all this with a combination of relief, pride, ownership, superiority and accomplishment because he is the one that did it.
Our customer will not say that our software rented his property for him no more than any of us says Microsoft Word wrote our document or Gmail sent our email. They are all just tools to help us get the job done.
This logo is the logo of a one-person company as each of our customers is that one-person company.
What we haven't seen so far with a couple of exceptions:
*We want a horizontal logo. irented.it is a short domain name. Graphic elements can be added at the beginning, middle and/or end to lengthen it.
*We have not seen any handwritten script.
*We have not seen any graphical treatments of the "." or the "it" (the ".it" is important because we are not using a .com and we will have to train our users to type ".it" instead of automatically typing .com.
*The "it" also represents the actual item being rented which in this case is a house, apartment, etc.
*We have not seen element of design that indicates this is a communications tool. Nor any indication it is about booking appointments (calendaring).
*We have not seen element of design that indicates speed. It takes 5 minutes for the landlord to set up of their listing and appointments schedule. The handling of the appointments, showings and leasing takes a fraction of the time it normally takes.
MycroBurst permits you to submit unlimited designs with unlimited variations. However, if you are providing 2 or 3 different color versions of the same logo in one draft, please make sure that if the particular draft gets finalized, each color version should be separated before you will send the final files.
First thanks to everyone that has submitted and will submit. We appreciate your efforts and talents.
Further to the Project Brief (sorry I can't find the update within 24 hours option):
1. Don't take my little red man to literally. He was the best I could draw. If you are going to be using a little i-person then don't use anything that would appear on a website promoting community. Our target market (the i in irented.it) is very much on his own.
2. Chroming the letters does not work. It appears to automotive also the chroming then looks funny on the letters i and t.
3. The addition of an element of design that represents housing (building, house, roof-line, etc) is definitely encouraged. It solidifies the concept of what exactly we are renting.
4. The background colors. When choosing your background colors I find it easiest to think of our website as an software program. As in a software program the background and inactive elements are unsaturated and the active and action elements are saturated. You may want to pick an element of your logo design and use a saturated splash of the unsaturated background color for each of the six colors as an example of something to do.

I take the not blending well comment back. I looked closer and the logo does blend with the background. It is just the chroming that distracted me.
thx

The font is too chrome like and looks automotive. But I like the fact the "letter I" is not too healthcare like.
I looked at your portfolio and the following logos you did are closer to what we are looking for:
Page 1, row 4, logo 1
Page 2, row 2, logo 1
Page 4, row 5, logo 3

I like your take on the background colors.
They make me feel secure and I trust them and they are not distracting but the colors are at odds with the logo and it does blend well.
I find the logo design too Automotive with that chroming of the font. And the "letter I" is too healthcare, community or yoga.

Thanks for being first. We liked how you combined a house icon with the "letter I".
However, the "letter I" looks to much like what you would see on a healthcare, community or yoga site.
We found the font overpowering and it reminded us of Star Trek at first glance.
With only having one color in the logo it looks flat.
